Nah I didn't install to HD, I don't have much room left.

It's happening with a lot of people which is how I got some ideas to fix it. I think what might have triggered it was me knocking the guy out by accident and me loading before that because I didn't want to start that part of the quest just yet.

I do agree that it is awesome as a total package. I really enjoyed the other Deus Ex games and this seems to deliver something just like them but better.

It doesnt hurt like I am a huge conspiracy nut, and have done way more research into the Illuminati than I probably should have. So the story really pulls me in, as its something im interested in, and tbh, its something that's probably not to far from the truth politically wise IRL. I Love the atmosphere, they nailed the Cyber Punk feel.

I dont think the game is perfect however.

- The NPC's character animations are painful to watch, especially Malik and her stupid arm wave, and Jensen constantly folding his arms and leaning back.

- China is a bit confusing to navigate on hard as it removes the waypoint markers.

- Only 1 energy cell recharges( gah 2 would have been perfect)

Also a few notes of Metal's post about the mechanics.

My Opinion

- Remember Deus Ex is an RPG first and foremost. Always has been, and that tradtion has carried over to this gem.

- Compared to most modern RPG's, this games gun mechanics are in the top echelon.

- Jensen isn't a Super Soldier. He is ex SWAT, and cop. Therefore his reliance on stealth even with the Augments fits the story/universe.

- In context of the conspiracy situation and corporate espionage, it makes more sense to be stealthy, as just blowing through realistically IRL would result in automatic, massive failure in the situations Jensen is thrust into.

- Deus Ex has always been stealth as the first option. The gunning option is also viable, but a bit more difficult in alot of circumstances.

- ALSO, by upgrading the guns, there performance and effectiveness improve dramatically. If you want to max a gun, I would suggest the 10 mm with armor piercing rounds( 1 hit headshot kill 100% even on armor), and the explosive .357. Choose 1 or the other, and max it out with upgrades, and it will be great. The combat Rifle is pretty good upgraded as well.

Just some perspective fro a series vet is all. People expecting a twitch/military shooter should look elsewhere.

Real good points D & Sym.

It does irritate me to have to eat a candy bar to flatten someone. Very Happy I agree a 2 battery recharge option would be better.

I've been upgrading the machine pistol just because I think it's cool.

Machine Pistol is fun, but even upgraded it really game come end game. Just saying. I used it alot of my second play through, but the non armor piercing rounds suck. Revolver is hands down my favorite gun in the game.

-Im in my 3rd playthrough right now, hardest difficulty, no alarms and no kills. Im about halfway through, and gotta say, the stun gun is damn hilarious. I love setting people into sparks.

If you upgrade a gun if you drop it inside your apartment will it stay there? I never have any inventory space so I usually just sell all my guns except for my tranq rifle.

Symbolic

Symbolic

Yea it will stay, in fact it will stay anywhere in the world you drop for the entire game. I used Sarif's office as my stash when I did my gun run.

Chewy

Chewy

Oh that's awesome, I'll have to take advantage of that. I'm always afraid to apply upgrades since I feel like I'm gonna end up selling the gun anyway to save inventory space. I'd buy the inventory upgrades if there wasn't already other stuff that I find more essential to get(hacking upgrades, no fall damage).

Just make sure to take what you want before you leave the hub. Because obviously you usually dont come back for awhile. A good place in China is the LIMB clinic.

A better place in China is

I'm with Sym on the conspiracy theory stuff. Seriously, this game's story is everything I've ever wanted in a sci-fi tale. I really want to go back and play Deus Ex 1 and 2, but I've heard that they're incredibly dated now and I also heard 2 was pretty meh.

Symbolic

Go play the original Ante. It's still probably a good game. haven't played it in over 5 years, but I have a hard time imagining its aged that much. I actually think the story is better believe it or not, while HR has better game play.

Duck

I played Deus Ex for the first time about a year or more ago. You can tell it's dated but it's still really fun. Just make sure to put some points in to a weapon class or else you'll be sitting around waiting for your gun to aim forever.

I dunno. That DLC sounds pretty lame to me. No augs, and takes place during Jensen's missing time in the main game? Boo. I want a conclusion of the story, and find out what happens to Megan Reed. BTW I was under the conclusion that Jensen was in some sort of stasis module during that time frame? Or did I miss something? Im on my 3rd play through here, and I still didn't notice anything hinting of anything else.

Almost complete with my final run. Like I said Im going hardest difficulty, no alarms and no kills. Its actually not as hard as I thought it was. Once you play the game a few times, you become so good at using cover and cloak that you can bounce around all over the place and not be seen. Plus in the beginning of the game, sound is a really great way to help lure enemies if your battery and cloak is low. I just arrived at Panchea and should finish it up today after football. The stun gun is awesome.

I'm still trying to finish the medical tower in China. How far do I have to go?
I want to be done by tomorrow night so hopefully I'm near the end.

You're about half way.

Finished last night. I think I got a glitch achievement. I got the "Pacifist" , but did not get the " Foxiest of the Hounds ", even though I never set of an alarm the whole game, nor even let an enemy get to hostile status.

Nice piece. Read it.

Chewy

Chewy

I wanna read it but it says it has endgame spoilers...

I just returned to Detroit, so I think I have like at least 10 or so hours left?

Oh and speaking of radar, the radar aug sucks butthole unless you have a 97' TV. Makes it way too small, I reloaded my save after I purchased it.

Ante

Ante

Do you have an HDTV?

Chewy

Chewy

Yeah I have a 50" HDTV that I sit like 5 feet away from. I mean it's not like its all invisible but the default radar just seems a lot more useful aside from the needing to visually acquire enemies first thing.

Symbolic

Symbolic

If your going for a no kill/stealth run, the advanced radar is really useful towards the end of the game.

Chewy

Chewy

I just find it to be way too much in too little space, especially with all the cones.

So I just noticed that sarif's email is freneticpony lol... Looks like the dude is a brony.
