Anybody interested in Dead Island?

I used to be pumped for this game and it comes out in 2 days but eh....only things worth 60 bucks to me are Skyrim and Battlefield 3....

it just seems like a wanna be free roam left 4 dead but mostly melee now and they made the guns rare in that game I was reading since it was an island resort.

I have the money to get it,but,the internet bill's right around the corner due,and eh......I'm just really not feeling anything besides BF3 and Skyrim.I wouldn't mind Gears 3 but most likely my bro's just gonna get it and I'll either co op it with him or he'll let me borrow it.

If it came to redbox here,I'd just rent dead island for $1 but it says it's not coming.I wouldn't mind renting Duex Ex tho.

I feel burned out on games....maybe since I haven't gotten anything new in forever...I wouldn't mind having some new stuff to play,but too poor lol

If I can finish Deus Ex by tomorrow night (maybe even if I don't finish it...) then I'll possibly pick up Dead Island, Space Marine and maybe, just maybe that Rise to Nightmares game.

We'll see what reviews say on all 3.

So basically...
-Huge open world game 20-30 hours.
-Deep RPG system that they compare to Fallout 3.
-Zombies are actually scary.
-Tons of options quest and weapons.
-Varied environments.
-Great sound.
-Addicting and very fun.

-Suffers from texture pop.
-Suffers from collision glitches.
-Stiff animation in cutscenes.
-Nothing special story wise.
-Starts out slow.

They still said it was one of their favorites this year though.
The PS3 version is the glitchier of the 2.

I wouldn't mind renting it.I just hope I have the money for Skyrim when it comes out lol.Might have to wait awhile on BF3

I have it on my old Xbox hardrive but I never tried it. Sounded like a cool idea though.

I'm thinking I should pass on Dead Island. 20-30 hours is just to long for me. No way I'll finish it before I want a new game. Especially if I get Space Marine the same day.

Multi-player shooters really seem to be the only thing I can invest a lot of playtime into anymore. Plus I'm only half way through Dues Ex with only one day left to finish it.

But I fucking hate that every 5 feet there's money/stuff hidden to search for or pick up.
Why the hell do games do this (Deus Ex, Elder Scrolls, Fallout...)? It's stupid and counter to what you'd actually be doing in those situations. So why make the most commonly performed activity in your game the most boring and out of character action?

I'm actually sorta interested in this game. I want to try it just to see if i can get into, so I might wait until a friend gets it then try it out. otherwise, im kinda stretched to get BF3 and Skyrim.

I was just thinking that too Metal.....reminds me of the damn planet mining in Mass Effect 2.Good game,but that was boring as hell and dragged it out.

I feel the same with this,good game,but the money thing drags it out soo much.

I didn't even mind it in Fallout lol.I hate how in dead island you have to press x just to reach down slowly and open a backback,then reach back down to pick up 5 dollar lol.In Fallout it automatically opens the menu with everything in it and you take what you want.

I would've liked that better in this game,have more than just 1 thing in a suitcase or backpack.

BUT.......I've always wanted a free roam zombie game that's co op.Like a mix of Fallout and Left 4 Dead,and probably Condemned due to all the melee and the weapons wearing down lol.The graphics seem good,scary sounds.....the gameplay I've seen made me jump from some cheap scares lol.

I've seen gunplay against pirates later in the game,and it seemed cheesy tho....the guy would headshot the enemies point blank and they wouldn't die.Hit detection seemed to be off too,and enemies glitching through cover.An enemy would stand right in front of the player and just be firing shots but none of them hit lol.

and it only seems there's a beretta,AK,and Spaz 12 shotgun from what I've seen....I was really hoping for more weapon diversity. I know it's an island resort,but they could of played a backstory where there was secret black arms smuggling going on or somethin...idk...or maybe you raid the police headquarter's armory

Yeah, I was just discussing the same thing with the manager over at Gamestop. It's really a video-game standard that I'd like to see die.

Still debating if I'm buying it or not. I was surprised to see that even Fred Meyer is opening at midnight for Space Marine and Dead Island... weird.

BF3(for the plane crashing)

saints row 3(same as BF3)

last gaurdian

assassins creed 1 through revalations

fables 1 and 3(tired of playing 2)

fuck man just those and im gonna be busy for months

Waaaay too many games coming out and not any money to get em all....

I think I'd rather get BF3 than Skyrim if I HAD to choose....Battlefield has been my favorite shooter,and I got more time out of BC2 than Elder Scrolls actually lol.It's just I'm really not gonna be able to afford both BF3 and Skyrim for awhile due to them coming out about within 2 weeks of each other lol

i choose skyrim as first because im just not a big fan of war games

sure ill play and i get excited about this new shit but its just ruined by the fact that im not very good at them and everyone i play with offline screenlooks first chance they get

Gamestop is giving and extra 30% trade in right now so long as you pre-order Skyrim, MW3, BF3, Saints Row 3 and a few others I can't remember.

Screen-watching is so much fun when everyone is doing it.

find a game that was really fun the firs time but hasnt been played in a few years that normally get me to have fun i know i did it over the summer

and im gonna play the first assassins creed pretty soon

I liked the Assassin Creeds....beat 1,got pretty far in 2 before trading it in,then my bro got Brotherhood and I barely played it.
