First check-in

Things are just going fucking splendid. Having spent circa 6.5 hours in the car, I have a migraine, I'm 2/3 of the way through my book, and my mum decided to drop on me that she hadn't actually packed our permanent residency cards as she had promised, so my goal of going into Canada is now squashed. I had 2 actual goals for this treat, be in Canada, and get a vendor hot-dog in NY. Now one of those is gone. So I'm royally pissed off.

Oh well.

All is boring in bumfuck South Bend, Indiana. We drove past Notre Dame, which was just splendid really, 'cept for the fact that ND is the antithesis of what I want for college.

Notre Dame is a school obsessed with football and religion, the two things I don't want in a college.

Meh, fair enough. I'm trying to go there because it's the best undergrad business school in the nation. There's no way in hell I'll get in, but it would be pretty cool. Plus, I love football and I'm Catholic, so no problems.
