Manila Plague

A man lives in a condo at the 11th floor out of 20 floors.

When he takes the elevator to his room he presses the 4th floor and takes the stairs to his room.

Why does he do this instead of just going on his own floor?

fine i'll step it up a bit

The police rounded up Jim, Bud and Sam yesterday, because one of them
was suspected of having robbed the local bank. The three suspects made
the following statements under intensive questioning.

  • Jim: I’m innocent.
  • Bud: I’m innocent.
  • Sam: Bud is guilty.
If only one of these statements turns out to be true, who robbed the
bank?

Jim did it, and Bud's statement is true. that renders Jim's "I'm innocent" into "I'm guilty" and Sam's "Bub is guilty" to "Bub is innocent."

wait a minute...if two of them said I'm innocent and only one can be right does that imply that the other two are guilty?

or wait would "I'm innocent" be counted as "one statement" therefore sam is the guilty one?

Plague, you have to explain here. The scenario I described is the only logical one. any other causes paradoxes.

In 1803 Scientist Richard Schellzbacher theorized that babys were not affected by Gravity

After dropping 10 babies form the top of a 3 story building his theory was proved false

yeah so really there is no way of knowing if sam robbed the bank or not...at least not with the info the riddle provides.
