So I play guitar although I have been on a break for about 6, 7 months. My supervisor at work is trying to get rid of his Epiphone Explorer, Raven amp (digital/solid I think), and digital effects pedal (customizable) for $300. I'm not sure if it's the Explorer GT or the '58 Reissue. If it's the '58 than I'm even more tempted to get the deal.

Only problem is I really want a semi-hollow. Specifically the Epiphone Sheraton II as I'm in to grunge, classic rock, mellow stuff. I know the Explorer will work for those things too and more importantly the player is what makes the music not the gear, but I love everything about the Sheraton II. I have yet to play any Explorer so I have no experience with it. Might head to the shop to try a few out this week.

What do you guys think?

It looks cool, but for me the Sheraton II have an elegance to them and at the same time they're like freaks underneath the skin waiting to get turned on.

*I have a Jackson with a Floyd ROse (I hate that Floyd Rose so much), and a Hondo Strat I kind of resurrected. Both have this issue with the G string's 2nd fret being sharp while intonation is perfect. I checked to see if it was my finger bending it or fretting it too hard, but it's not. It's a strange coincidence to be on two of my guitars with tremolos. I'm not sure if it's a messed up fret, unset action, or whatever, or if the guitars are just messed up by uncommon coincidence.

Yeah. If I guess it's more of like should I get something I don't really want, but is at a crazy good price, or get something I want that I'll have to save up for.

That is a very good analogy sir. I'm gonna use that. Yeah, I guess I'm gonna save up, but I'm gonna try them out just to be sure. The Explorer has great reviews though.

It's like the Prostitute who's hot with no diseases and will give you a good time and a girl who's got you high in every possible way. Sounds simple, but not that simple. LOL
