Damn, app hubs are a gold mine!

Last year, I made some SHITTY apps for windows phone. Like, really, REALLY, shitty. Just for the lulz. Seriously, they are useless and crappy, I see no reason anyone would even download them. Well, maybe to shut kids up.

Anyway. Some months ago I remembered that I actually had that thing in the windows phone marketplace, and just for shits and giggles set a price on all 3 shitty apps. They are basically the same, like 3 retarded siblings. I priced each the lowest possible, $15, or about 1 dollar.

So, I check today because I got an e-mail from microsoft about payment info, and after messing around the control panel, and, lo and behold, I see that about 50 people bought the apps. Contrary to my belief that no one would pay for it, there it was. At least it seems like it, according to some reports on the site.

That's like, $750, or 50 bucks, just for some half assed crap. I'm checking how to get my money sent to me right now, and I may even do some actually nice apps and upload them later. Even tempts me to try the Apple marketplace eventually, those guys buy pig shit as long as Apple sells it.

Yeah I've heard there's a lot of money in that, my buddy is trying to start a business out of it eventually.

What did the apps you make do?

And is MS taking a huge chunk of the profits or are the larger moneys you're talking about just pesos?

Yeah, seems like there is plenty of cash, specially with Apple. People just don't seem to care when something costs 1 dollar.

My apps were... lol. Something out of a crappy Windows Phone "course". Took 3 different animated movies. Put about 4-6 pictures of characters of said movies in the window. If you touch the picture, you can hear one of their phrases. That's it.

I don't know how much money MS takes from it, maybe nothing since you have to pay to be in the developer network (I got in for free due to a student code). Never mind, that's impossible, they must get a cut <_< The 750 are just pesos, equalling about 50 dollars.

I'm busy nowadays, but maybe I can squish some time to make a decent app. I'll think about that later once I actually see how much of a hassle it is to get the money.
