Saw this on gfaqs and thought it was interesting.....here's my go,

ME3 ....Could have waited till now to get it for like 20 bucks
Mortal Kombat Xbox 360 ....got a copy for me and my bro but it just never clicked with me,thought you could co op tag team online which was a lie,you could only co op tag team on local MP on the same console, online was also very laggy
RE Operation Raccoon City....it was alright but it should be a crime they charged 60 for it.....gamefly and best buy have it brand new right now for like 9.99

it doesn't have to be new at $65 games, any game you regret buying

on that note I'd say AC Revelations....though the MP was garbage, and the single player was alright but dragged on a long time and I got very bored with it,also GTA4...I'll always prefer Saints Row to it. Also I feel bad I even bought the MGS HD collection,I played them soooo much on the PS2 I'm very burned out on them

The only ones that jumps to mind are Red Dead Redemption and Deus Ex.

Tbh, I can't really say their are any games that I regret buying. I have good judgement and I seldom succumb to hype (not that I don't get excited for a game), jump the gun, and buy a game without knowing everything about it and getting a good vibe. Although now that I think about it, maybe GRFS. I enjoyed the game, but I do kinda wish I rented or borrowed it instead.

65 for a new game...america!

Its 69.99 usually here + plus tax which in ontario is 13%.

But games I have regretted...not many but RAGE....could have done without. I enjoyed Operation Raccoon City and ME3....for the time I put in and how much fun i had playing those....worth the price.

But for a none new game. GTAIV ...not worth the 39.99 Price tag...I don't enjoy it as much as the older ones.

Saints Row The Third....wish the game was a bit longer and had more ridiculousness (thats a lot to ask I know but....)

Also AC Revelations I really enjoyed, played maybe 3 chapters in singleplayer (definitely the weakest story of all the games) but the MP was fun...think like 15-25 hours online.

Deus Ex HR - Played 30% and never touched again
RAGE - Did not continue past getting my VERY FIRST gun. Did not even fire the darn thing.

I think thats about it for past year.

Same. I made it to the second boss and just turned it off. Here's my review:
Deus Ex Human Revolution: Absolutely massive potential for awesome, completely wasted.

Holy hell I forgot about Brink.
If you guys remember I was buying up the pre-order DLC from people as well as pre-ordering multiple copies so I could have all of it. I think I was $25 deep into the DLC before I even got the game.

It was so bad I traded it in the next morning as soon as Gamestop opened. What a shitty game. I can't believe I was anxiously waiting for it for 2 years...

EDIT: I should mention that your post cracked me up! Very Happy

Personally I think RDR is my biggest gaming disappointment in the past 2 generations. As a "videgame" I don't think it is to bad, it gets the job done. However as a western (which I absolutely love) and as the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver (one of my all time favorites) I really hated it.

I've already posted pages of reasons for this before, but here it is in a nutshell.

Take 100 years of incredible source material to work from.
Awesome history, books, movies, stories (true and fiction), action, gunfights, chases, duels, bar fights, adventures, dialogue, heroes, villains etc... Now take the best 90% of all that and throw it away or ignore it completely.

Take the remaining 10% and make it as boring, dull and lifeless as you can while still being able to call it a western. Add in repetitive mini-games to mask it. Put in some gameplay and shooting mechanics that feel like they were programmed last generation. Sprinkle it with sub-par animation, pathetic wildlife and bad AI. Put a cowboy hat on it and what do you have?

In my opinion a really fucking shitty "western".

Now I know most of you loved it. More power to you. Unfortunately after years of waiting for it to come out, it was a crushing disappointment to me.

I enjoyed it, but it was a huge let-down compared to the first and was pretty much broken at launch for several weeks.

Red Dead Redemption is not a sequel. It's a spiritual successor. Big difference.

You're right and I edited my post, but I disagree that it makes any meaningful difference.

This. I get maybe one, two maybe three games a year tops and that's it. I do lots of research and make sure I know I'm gonna like the game before I purchase it.

Switching to PC though so I'll probably end up buying quite a bit this year.

Yeah it was me, it sucked at launch with the servers never being up and had other problems but I still enjoyed it a lot.
As for regret Idk but I didn't enjoy dw gundam 3 that much. Didn't even play through all of it just doesn't make me want to play it.

This made me laugh. Personally I loved Homefront and am really looking forward to the sequel which is supposed to have a bigger budget. I just hope to God it is more like Frontlines this time.

None. I've never bought a game new that I wasn't 100% on, the rest I buy on sale. I've never even opened my copy of Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 or Dragon Age 2, but those were given as gifts, so I have no regret on them.
