Is playing with IRL friends really worth an extra $23+ and crappier graphics? (yes I know it probably is lol)

I got a discount, so it only cost me 13 dollars more, and I'm already more than happy with the graphics (I still play the original battlefront, graphics don't mean much to me), so yeah. Basically, yes.

well, yeah, it really is. But seriously scratch

When did I say anything about a gamepad? The few times a used one, I hated them. I'll be playing Borderlands 2 with my Onza TE, not a shitty gamepad Razz

Onza TE is a gamepad...

Just ordered this, I was pondering which version I wanted since split-screen is appealing to me... but meh I guess I'd rather have the version that's superior in every other way and a lot cheaper.

wait...the Onza is a gamepad? I thought game pads were ugly, useless contraptions like this:

not regular controllers...

Nah, gamepad is just another name for a regular controller.

I think you misunderstood what I mean by gamepad.

We were talking about the pros and cons of BL2 on xbox.

A gamepad is just a controller, man.

Ok, my mistake then.

My thoughts on "gamepads" then:

they're fine. I like having my Onza, and I like the feel of it. Some games are much better on K/M, like CS:Source, TF2, and such, but some feel better with a controller. I prefer the controller for BL2, since I felt it had a very well designed controller layout in Borderlands. Since I've been gaming on controllers since I was 13, I'm used to them by now Razz

I've always wanted to check out that Onza man, but I heard they're so god awfully glass fragile from all the reviews on amazon that it turned me away....the better D-pad and buttons seemed really cool, and being able to adjust the analog stick tension

The only games I've ever played that I prefer a controller over a mouse with are racing games. Seriously, why the fuck hasn't anyone made a pressure sensitive keyboard yet!?

Yeah really... Racing games do kind of suck with a keyboard. Can always buy a pedal and steering wheel, but that wouldn't really work for open world games like Just Cause etc...

They're really not that bad. I've had mine for over a year, it's held up really well. The fine tuning on the analog sticks is absolute heaven in FPSs, when I played CoD with a comp team, I could lighten it up so that the sticks were totally loose, or clamp em down to improve accuracy and control. It was really nice. And the mechanical buttons are soooooooooooooo good. They're so easy to press and you can just slide your thumb, since they're a little lower than the regular ones. The D-Pad is awesome too, since you can just go for one direction, instead of awkwardly pressing the entire thing down.

The only actual breaking I've had on my Onza was the little rubber covering on the left thumbstick. The bottom edge of it was a little loose, and since I was picking at it incessantly, a half-centimeter sliver came off. But that is seriously the only problem I've ever had, and it was still caused by me. Razz

Also, the programable bumpers are perfect for FPSs. I have my right one set to the "select" button, that's been an enormous help for spotting in Bad Company 2 & BF3.
