I have heard this from many a Costco customer. Funny thing is it's usually near or inside the grounds of a Costco, go figure.

I'd rather work for Costco than the fuckwits I work for now. Costco actually treats their employees pretty well and pays them a decent wage.

I go in to buy Kari this computer for her birthday.

1st. On the way in they actually stop me and make me dig out my Costco card to prove that I have paid for the right to give them more fucking money. "Do you harass all your customers like this or are you just a bitch?"

2nd. These shopping carts are built-for-retards huge.

3rd. I go up to checkout and only half are open and they are swamped 5 carts deep on every fucking isle that is open.

4th. After waiting in line for a fucking hour to buy this thing I find out they don't take credit cards...

What? What the fuck do you mean you don't take credit cards? This is the year 2013 right? I didn't just time warp back to the fucking 19fucking50's did I? Or maybe I accidentally went to the Costco in Amish country, where they believe credit cards are the devil an' their gon' gethcha!

Nope, this fucking place seriously, unbelievably doesn't take credit cards. So I get out of line to check my checking account to make sure I can pay cash for this thing, then have to jump back in line to buy it again.

The most anti-consumer store I've ever bought something at in my life.

Cabs even take credit cards nowadays. So do crack dealers. It makes no sense that a store that sells in bulk wouldn't take them.

I know places that don't take cards but it's kind of weird for a place like that not too, considering how much grocceries can be and other stuff they sell.

Are you sure they DON'T take credit cards and it wasn't just that the network their credit card machines are on was down? I regularly had to turn down credit/debit card sales when I worked at my last job because our internet service was so spotty.

the only place ive seen that doesnt take credit cards is the chopsticks express in the mall with the magic marker sign that says "we are no take credit cards cash only please"

I still have to do this and i get raged at, when it rains hard everything decides to stop working.

The only credit card they take is American Express (which is what the guy told me last night).

From the Costco FAQ:

Inside the store, they accept Amex and Costco cash cards, although many also have an ATM for cash withdrawals. You can also pay with cash and check. No Visa, MC or Discover.
