I must be having a reading comprehension problem. Kitsune are you saying crime is higher in areas with less firearms or crime is higher in areas with more?

Kitsune

Kitsune

Crime is higher where there are less firearms.

Artimise Flare

Artimise Flare

Well if I was a criminal, I'd stay away from homes that are likely to end up with me getting a few extra holes in me Razz

Kitsune

Kitsune

Yeah, that's why nobody messes with anybody around here, most children here even like to shoot quite a bit xD

Artimise Flare

Whomever I'm blessed with to be my with, and of course my wife willing, I want my kids to grow up knowing how to shoot.

Would also like them to grow up bilingual if possible as well Smile If I have my way and am able to stick with it, I would like to open up my own gunshop or range if not both. Perhaps one day.

I know 3 people, my age, that have been killed by gun violence in central kansas city.... 2 were drive bys, the other was while the guy was running away from the shooter. I know these people would still be alive if the shooter had only had a knife/golf club/baseball bat etc. anywayz....

Art, do you think RPGs should be legal? And if so, why?

Only noob dealers get shot in the face

I did it for years and never once had a threat of violence, nor did any of my buddies.

If you deal to shady people, then yea shit could happen.

But as a rule people who sell weed arent the victims of violent crime very often.

Kitsune

One thing that I would like to add, is that most serial killers (though not all) prefer the methods of strangling/stabbing (or poison, in the case of women) over shooting, as it much more personal, and they are far more dangerous than most people who just do the one-time shooting.

And yes, dealing/buying weed doesn't usually result in shootings, it's more likely to happen with hard-core drugs, such as cocaine/meth.

Artimise Flare

Weed as I understand it, is not necessarily as apt to cause someone to spin into a violent episode like those that become addicted to Meth, Heroine, Cocaine etc. I'm no expert though, so I can't really say for certain.

I typically don't hear about pot smokers committing many murders or stuff like that, most of the time the stuff I hear when it concerns violence and drugs is of course, as Kitsune said, linked with the more hardcore drugs.

No weed doesnt make you violent.....

The fact that people even question that in 2013 makes me sad....

Artimise Flare

Never touched the stuff personally, but I know a bunch of friends from HS who are big on it.

I don't agree with smoking let alone the smoking of weed, but frankly, it's not my body and it's up to the individual to choose what they want to do. If I had to choose someone being high on weed or high on meth, crack or some other hard drug, I'd pick weed every single time.

Most of the guys I know that get high on the stuff are too busy talking about the rainbows in the sky or how baked and good they feel, never have I heard them having a desire to kill someone. I can't remember, but I think I read somewhere that weed affects your bodies production of a certain chemical that induces that feel good sensation, so perhaps that's why people are not prone to violence while high as a kite on pot.

Again, I don't have first hand knowledge on this topic, so I could be completely wring of course.

That's the one, thanks lemon lol. Yes I'm pretty sure weed affects the production of seratonin, which is commonly believed to contribute to the feelings of "happiness" it also affects your bodies metabolism, which if I recall, is why those high on weed are usually hungry.

No one said Weed makes you violent

Jesus you guys are fucking paranoid and feel the need to defend weed whenever someone brings it up

I was only asking Zillah because I know one of those 3 friends got shot while dealing weed

Kitsune

Lol, I don't, I was just trying to clarify things that I guess didn't need to be Sad

I'm not touching the gun debate, but if you plan on having bilingual kids, sweet jesus teach them when they're like 5. I speak english and serbian, as well as pidgin-french. Those three are possible the least related languages (save arabic and sanskrit) you can get. The only reason I can comprehend english because I learned it very early on. And if you plan to go english to any other language, the chance of them learning it well are miniscule. English is so far removed from any sense of linguistic logic that it's astounding.

I'm self teaching Japanese right now, and I'm trying to learn a bit of Thai as well (My parents ethnic parent languages)

Kanji is currently my biggest hurdle when it comes to japanese, and pronunciation and so on is my biggest problem with Thai, though my mom speaks it. I can go around Japan and survive for the most part due to knowing the functional key questions and phrases. A conversation is out of the question though.

That's the plan also Pariah, I hope to raise my children in a house where both me and my wife can speak at least one of the languages I'd like them to learn. Ideally that's all we'd speak in the house, while outside they'd speak English.

A girl I knew was outrageously gifted with languages, she grew up only speaking Japanese to her mother and Chinese to her father she's now fluent in both. Apparently she also can hold a decent conversation in Italian and a bit in French as well, the girl was crazy I swear.

Trying to learn from English to any of the romance languages is hell. The tense structure that english uses is vastly different. With Japanese, I don't even know how it's structured grammatically, I imagine it's hell to learn.

Artimise Flare

Honestly, I don't have too much trouble with it. Provided that the articles I read are in Hirigana/Katakana I can get by pretty easily.

From what I can tell is that the Japanese don't have any form of past tense, though there are words that are typically reserved for either gender.

For example, Atashi is the feminine version of "I" or "me" while Boku is usually masculine. Watashi is the formal way of referring to yourself.

lets not even get into Osakan dialect and Kansai ben.

Probably not often, but one of the only serious dealers I've ever known was.

He was robbed at home by 3 dudes with masks and shotguns. They beat the shit out of him, broke some bones and held his little boy (about 6 at the time I think) at gunpoint.

Pretty damn serious. Woke the dude up and he quit dealing and smoking. I haven't seen the guy in probably 6 years now.
