My hair has gotten prett y long as I have been growing it for a good 18 months now.

We got a new boss and he wants me to cut it, despite the fact I work night crew. This just pisses me off . Ive always wanted proper length headbanging hair amd im just two inches away from it being long and heavy enough and now its gotta go

If there is no rule book stating the appearance of oneself made by corporate, like the military's AR 670-1, then that boss is infringing upon you, and using his position of authority to order you to cut your hair. Which is unlawful.

Ponytails are a long-haired guys best friend. The only time I've actually had to make my hair appear shorter, I just stuck it in a ponytail and wound it into a bun.

Call your HR department and see if there is a rule about hair etc...
If it's a smaller company without HR or a employee handbook or anything like that you are probably screwed.

Yes they can make you cut it

In Oregon at least, its an at will state. If you dont cut it they might fire you. At least where I live

Exactly. When I had my business I could fire people for anything on the spot. That's what I meant by if its a smaller company you might be screwed.
