Went to DHL and got an estimate for near / over $100 to Tom's place.
So, minimum $150 and maximum of $350'ish still stands.
Of course, I have to bring in the actual thing to the office tmr to get more accurate quote. Hopefully it does not deviate too much from what it is now, and if it does I hope it drops in price. LoL
I just sent off to Tom just now. It seems like it only takes 2~3 days, and price is around 80'ish. Well, time to find the new owner for the second one.
:3 I was thinking of looking and saving up for something better for my bro,I've actually seen a few sandy bridge i7s sorta cheap on craigslist, and a z68 board should be cheap, then he'd have a badass system.
I think he would be really happy with 680,did anybody else want to bid?
There are no real 'bid', but only people interested in it.
Your brother is not one of those regulars that I see here right?
One thing I am hoping is that the 2 cards that I am giving away to be circulated around SeC when the person no longer needs it. I am also hoping that people are not looking into making profit by getting it from me and shoving it up on ebay or something.
Will your brother be willing to give away this card (what I really mean by it is selling it way below market price) to those people who he probably does not care if they existed? I believe that regulars in SeC have at least some sort of bond between us where I can expect this to go on, so I just want to have some kind of future prediction of that will happen to these cards down the line.
Of course, there is a possibility that these cards become completely obsolete in near future, but I think these cards should be fine for quite some time to come.
nah he never did join here even though I tried to get him to, he's too shy haha. I told him about the place and how it's really cool, it's like a family to me honestly. Oh yeah I'm sure he would, I'm trying to teach him about computers, he just listens to me on what I tell him what would be good haha.
He said he just wants to game on PC since the new xbox looks lame, and ps4 charging for online.
yeah the 680 should be good for quite some time. I know that his cpu is a bottleneck, don't know if Sym still needed a new card he was having problems with his 580 on BF3 not playing at all I think.
nice that Tom got the good upgrade, was just wondering if Sym still needed it,it would be fine if so, I still need to save up for the new cpu/motherboard,and probably OS since his is windows 7 OEM lol.
He doesn't 'need', since he got a brand new 580 from RMA. But he is still interested in it.
As I have mentioned, there is no real 'bid' going on right now. Just gathering who are interested in this second card. From those that are interested, I am going to decide a cut-off point where only people who showed interest will be allowed to bid.
Tom had it pretty lucky (I guess) as two other potential bidders gave it up due to their ow reasons, so he just got it automatically.
Btw, I am trying to limit it to members only. But as I have mentioned from previous posts in this thread, I will accept bids for close relatives as long as I can be assured that the person will not 'resale for higher profit'.
I mean that my brother just upgraded his own and we have some spare parts lying around, so I was going to build a new one. Don't really have anything to stick into this i7 I have here.
