Aren't all the Z87 boards socket 2011? Wouldn't you need to go Haswell to fully take advantage of it? That would be a pretty expensive upgrade.

I also heard they are going to have an ITX ROG board. I kind of have a hardware boner for that. All SATA ports being 6Gbit/s natively would be nice.

I regularly take apart my PC, so thats not a big deal. I had Sabertooth series before I got this, and no real problem there as well.

Haswell should be 1150.

At least 4770K is, iirc.

Ah I had heard a rumor that Haswell would be 2011. Pretty lame of them to change the pin numbers ever so slightly so that you have to get a new mobo for Haswell.

yeah it's 10% better than Ivy bridge, but gets even HOTTER lol. And actually uses more power, 84wats I believe, when ivy bridge is 77wats for the i5 at least I have.

yea it's a let-down getting a new motherboard when they change the socket each year. This i5 should be good for a long ass time,I haven't even overclocked it

From what I have been seeing about Haswell, power consumption is roughly the same with Haswell having performance benefit.
