I hope aliens have visited us
That would be cool as hell
As long as they are peaceful

I mean, look at the whole wikileaks thing that went on. Or really any leak of classified data.
You really think the leader of your countries are competent enough to hide something as potentially massive as aliens?

Yes
There are literally hundreds of things hidden from us.

You... you think Obama is competent?

No lol
I dont think it has anything to do with Obama
I think if indeed this is true, we have governments within governments. Its goes beyond Obama. He may not even know the truth.

Im not saying they have, but to cross it off entirely is kind of close minded IMO.

We are the most intelligent race that we know of in existence. We can't go around our own planet without burning fuel. The distance to the nearest planetary body is such that we would need to burn fuel in huge quantities to get there. No such evidence has been found to support this.
Let us expand further. To a planet far out in space that has never been catalogued. There live the Mys race. They have found us and wish to visit our planet. How have they found us? The first signal we sent into space was what? 80 years ago? That's the ONLY way they can find us. And that's travelling at the speed of light. But lets say they do find us. And they want to travel to us. How? They're gonna fly in a space-ship? Wonderful, they'd better pack a change of clothes, because that will be one LONG trip. Seriously. The fastest machine we've made that can fly (letting alone the issue that it's a jet and wouldn't work in space) is a Lockheed Blackbird, holding the airspeed record at 3,529 km/h. That's 0.01177147691% of the speed of light. So, say they hear the 80 year old transmission. Great. By the time their space ship gets here, their entire civilization and most likely all of ours will have died, because 679609 years will have passed. And IF miraculously they get here, and we're actually alive, and hey, we even meet one of them when they land smack dab in the middle of Washington D.C., our government will learn their secrets, right? No. Because we will have no way to communicate with them, since the chances of them (not just speaking English, but) communicating in a way that we even can identify as language (not understand, identify) is astronomically low. So we'd see them, they'd sense us, and that's it. It's like trying to talk to a cat. It might have its own language, but you'll never know. Except it's worse, because at least cats exist on this planet, know of its environment, have come from the same evolutionary chain as us, were born under the radiation of the same sun, and are probably more closely related to us than these aliens will ever be.
So no Sym, aliens have not visited us. Keeping an open mind is really nice, but don't ignore the science behind it. Once these things all change, then we can reevaluate.

Oh and about why wouldn't the government tell us if it happened? Refer to my avatar.

Yeah, I don't. However, I'm being quite generous with what we do have, and relying on the fact that time is a universal constant for the rest. It takes time to move, unless we're actually accepting Star-Trek physics and just ignoring the passage of time. We have very few ideas as to moving to another planet efficiently, that's still the realm of sci-fi for the most part. However, seeing as the alien race would have at best 110 years (the first radio signal strong enough to penetrate into space was sent out 110 years ago) to get their people to our world. Just for lack of any indication to the opposite, I judge for myself that this is improbable to the point of nonexistence. And what indication do we have that this race would be more intelligent than us? Why should they be more evolved than we are, we have literally no clue as to what they would ever be.
