Part of me wants to get it on launch, and the other part of me wants to wait for the inevitable redesign.

Yes. PC will always be my main platform but i know all my friends are going to be getting one and I can't wait to show them how to play Battlefield. They're all ex-Coddies so it should be interesting.

Yes, I'll actually be picking up both at launch. I stopped in at Best Buy a few days ago and paid off most of them both.

BF4... God I can't wait. I wonder which system it launches for first? I wonder what difference there will be between the console versions. I wonder which "most popular" BF3 maps are the 4 they re-made for the XBOne early-exclusive DLC? How long does the X1 have them exclusive for?

If both versions are equal then I'll definitely pick it up for the X1 for the extra maps and controller.

Only one of those I don't really care for is Kharg. Especially on conquest. Snoozefest.

I'm sick of Kharg just because there are a million Kharg/Firestorm/Caspian servers.

It's hard to find servers with variety.

But I might end up getting all consoles if the exclusive title is something that I must have. At least, judging from my compulsive spending habits its highly likely.

The thing is that those must have titles are sort of Japanese oriented, so they are more likely to come out on portable devices or on PS4. So, it reinforces the idea of getting PS4. LoL

Yeah, I have a PS4 preordered and will get it day 1.

There's a chance I may pick up an XO perhaps next year, in time for the new Halo and hopefully a price drop. It seems the friends I most often game with on 360 are also going PS4, and there are no XO exclusives this year that I am interested in so I am happy to wait and see if it's worth getting later. I'll be keeping my 360 in any case.

I forgot to mention one thing, regardless of whether I am getting X1 or not, I am getting the controller.

Same here, the controller looks amazing. I just hope that the controller will be seens as a 360 controller in older games.

The XO pad looks even more ergonomic, and has lots of little tweaks, but I'm hearing tale that the sticks have actually been loosened up from the 360 ones. It remains to be seen if the impulse triggers will work properly as well on PC (although I imagine mods may step in to address that).

Of course, it'll have to wait until the pads are available to be tested etc., but you may find yourselves in the unexpected position of the 360 pads remaining the best fit for PC pad use.

Failing that, maybe even the new Dualshock 4 would be best - especially if the clickable touchpad may function similar to a laptop touchpad, making desktop/menu navigation a breeze without having to reach for another device...?

I'll get the ps4 whenever my friends do, don't know if they are at launch,and even if they did,don't know what at launch would be cool multiplayer to play.

I'll probably end up getting bf4 on the console too and playing the shit out of it and getting to lvl 100

well someone at work said it's supposed to launch sometime in December so you could get BF4 for it at launch.

Right now, I've got both the PS4 and X1 pre-ordered. I need to find a list that compares exclusives for both systems though.

And if I was picking 4 BF maps to come to the next game...Noshahr Canals, Damavand Peak, Seine Crossing, and Operation Firestorm would be my 4(I mainly play Rush so my 4 are probably different than most Conquest players). Maps I'd least like to see are Tehran Highway, Operation Metro, and Caspian Border(but maybe Caspian wouldn't be so bad with more than 24 players). Maps I think they will actually bring to BF 4 are Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm, Kharg Island and Operation Metro(or Grand Bazaar).

Four maps from BF3 I would want    Metro, Armoured Kill map that was big open farm land, Any of the Aftermath maps, and the remake of Wake Island.

BF:BC2 maps: Arica Harbour, Isla Inocentes, Nelson Bay, and Atacama Desert

BF:BC maps: Harvest Day, Oasis, PAR FOR THE COURSE (NOW!NOW!NOW!NOW!), Acta Non Verba or End of the Line

not sure...I don't think they'll give away 2 DLC packs for free though. It's probably a paid DLC down the line.

All I know is that they are a timed exclusive for the X1 and that they are 4 "fan favorite" levels from BF3. Probably 1 to 2 weeks early on the X1.

Based off of the most played maps from BF3 I'd guess Operation Metro, Kharg Island, Operation Firestorm and Caspian Border.

Those are by far the most commonly played maps, although Sienne Crossing could be switched for one of the latter 3.

I've got one pre-ordered, but I might cancel it before it comes out. Not sure yet.

Even if MS removed all their restrictions and whatnot, I would still be going with it. All the negative stuff about it has got me looking at the PS4 and what Xbox games I was interested in and it made me realize that I could use a change up in exclusives.

at this point, if i was to get a next-gen console i would get a PS4. but a the same time... if i put that £350 in a bank account and added more to it over time... i could get a solid desktop when i leave uni

chances are, my flatmates next year a going to have a next gen console (or several) anyway so if its an XBOne i can play using the shared library and shared gold and if its a PS4 i can play singleplayer using disks

I don't think I really have a favorite. Just a bunch I can tolerate and then the rest which aren't so awesome. Talking vanilla maps though since I haven't really played the DLC ones.

The expansion packs are much, much better

Maybe after a significant price drop I would, but my priority is definitely getting a good PC.

I will wait about a year, maybe more. I'll see how things turn out. Early adopters always get screwed, and I have a lot of shit to play on other systems.

Endgame maps are all pretty solid. Only one that irks me at all is Kiasar Railroad because it has those long ass sightlines that attract all the bushwookies.
