I have never heard anyone in Canada use the term cotton (still have said what it is a term for). Also to note I haven't lived in the same spot my entire life... Born one place lived childhood in another...lived teenage years in four different places... so yeah. Yeah Canada is also still in the commonwealth... we earned our own Identity though....but whateves.

EDIT: ALSO I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE FRENCHY ONES.... they suck...usually.

"appears to be limited in usage to the UK and other countries that were previously part of the British Empire, notably Australia and New Zealand. In the USA, especially in the southern states, 'cotton to' is used, with the slightly modified meaning of 'take a liking to'."

That makes sense that I haven't heard it before (or least enough to remember it).
