i have a IPISB-CU (carmel 2) mobo, couldnt find anything online that said they wernt compatible

reset bios to defult

only goes to my logo screen, cant bring up bios with the the 760 in.

If you use the integrated graphics / remove the card, everything works?

is it seated correctly? is the molex connector properly hooked up?

its in correctly and hooked up to the psu

i just did some reading. someone on tomshardware.com is having the same problem only with a gtx 660.

But really, try booting up your PC without the card. If it works, just try another slot (If you have one...) If not, well, check the card in another computer.

This is what you deserve and should expect for PC gaming.

What? New OS? Why <_<? Don't you have the setup disk? If not, just torrent that sucker. But really, try some more stuff before you decide that it's your motherboard. Try another card in the mobo, try the card in another PC, etc.

Worst case scenario, you can get half-decent motherboards for like $50-$100.

my 520 works fine every switch. ima have to wait till monday to try it out one another pc probably. since the only person i know who has a gaming comp is unavailable till then.

my fear is i buy a new motherboard/os... and the same shit happens

I'm assuming here, BUT...

1) Its a HP motherboard so I assume its a store bought PC originally, so they sell a OEM version of windows (cheaper), that version will be registered to that PC, MS don't like transferring the activation codes (licences).

2) He COULD just replace drivers on current OS after installing a new MOBO, but its a pain in the ass cos store bought PC's are full of custom junk on the OS.

3) And I've not seen a PC manufacturer give a setup /windows disk for many years, its normally a recovery partition.

I looked that up... the card should work on 500 watts+.... really cant see his being less than that, but check anyway

Also, i aint installed a new GPU for a while... but i remeber some of them do require two power cables, a molex and a small one a bit like the ones that go on SATA drives

Do you have integrated graphics? Sometimes with newer cards you need to deactivate that as well.

im trying to install drivers now from the integrated...see if that works

integrated was already turned off, until i reactivated it.

This is the one true side to PC gaming. The troubleshooting. It happens to everyone from time to time. Im stll trying to see if I can find a compatibility report between your mobo and that gpu. But so far no bueno.

Is the output set to the correct PCI slot in Bios?

These are all things that CAN cause problems. I really hope you know someone who you can test the card out on

Any BIO's beep codes on boot?

Boot with integrated.

Download drivers.

Reinstall. and reboot and let us know what happens.

Also you could check the device manager and see if the card is even being recognized

Are you using dvi or vga?

It could be a faulty output slot as well

You should have two outputs on the back of your gpu for your monitor. If all else fails try the other one.

Also does the PC POST?

after i installed drivers from integrated, bios recognized the card...i switched it to primary, and turned off integrated...still didnt work.

and now i cant have it installed and run integrated since it will push it to the 760.

DId you try the monitor outputs in the back?

Like I said, PC gaming sometimes requires trouble shooting. And your finding it out this way....well get it working.

If all else fails do you know anybody who has another PC you can test it on?

Epyk where did you buy that card? You might be able to do a strait replacement instead of RMA.

A factory restore? You mean reinstall windows from the recovery partision? Prolly wont help, by sounds of it card maybe just fucked. Didnt there used to be like a 10% DOA rate on comp parts? (this was a few years ago tho)
