The death part does not scare me too much (it is always a risk). What makes me a little nervous are the 15 different things I had to sign. From breaking your jaw, shattered bone fragments, permanent nerve damage, permanent sinus damage, and a few others things that sounds really unpleasant. Most of that stuff is really rare though so I am not too nervous.

Hopefully they knock you all the way out.
I was conscious through mine. I couldn't feel any pain but I remember the tugging and jerking of my head and jaw around and the sound of breaking cracking teeth.

I had mine done.

I was out cold through the whole thing and I got drugs after. That was nice. Pretty tender afterwards...and it was annoying because I couldn't eat anything hot and I couldn't drink out of a straw...so drinking anything cold wasn't fun.

Just got home and it was odd. They said they were going to knock me out, but what I was conscious for bits and pieces through the operation. When I woke up they just rolled me out without explaining anything, and now I cant stop bleeding.

Umm...I would call them. You shouldn't be bleeding still.

Don't eat anything hot by the way...just incase they didn't say anything about that.

Yeah I did and they said the bleeding could last up to two hours. Yeah they also said for only a soft diet with nothing hot. I honestly picked a bad time to stay up 24 hours lol.

I was a little worried when you said they just let you go without saying anything.

I got a bunch of paperwork/informative stuff...and cotton balls.

Make sure you snort the painkillers they give you, they work better that way.

I have some wisdom teeth coming in and I don't plan on getting them removed. I've seen the aftermath of it plenty of times.

A dentist told me a year ago that I needed mine out, not really sure what happened with that though. Like 6 of my friends got them out all in the same week right before school started. None of them had much fun with it.

mine all came in perfectly straight which I heard is rather rare...I still need to get my upper right one out,it's just there broken to the gum pretty much. Urgh. I pretty much need dentures lol....damn weak enamel runs in my family. I heard of people dying from the gas from the dr/nurse not watching it and too much getting in your blood stream or oxygen getting too low or something, and the person dying. But that shouldn't be a problem if you're not at a rinky dink place.........but...the place I go to is run by indians but the cheapest extractions, 150 per tooth, 200 for a wisdom tooth I think. Wish they did payment plans though,that shit adds up quick


I want a laptop and new tv but I always have to have some saved back incase one starts acting up really bad so I could get it pulled.

To be honest I was not expecting it to hurt this much. I can't even take a sip of water without my mouth going into throbbing pain. I am just hoping I don't get dry socket. Anyways guys thanks for the support.

you had them all out at once?I only did 2 at a time so I could still eat/drink on one side. Wisdom teeth ache the worst but it gets better....I did better with just Tylenol.

it would suck with all 4 out at once,because I normally chew on my left side and would have to just chew straight in the front then lol

If you can, use a straw. I didn't because well...I just couldn't.

That way you can keep the water away from the wounds. It'll be a big help later on and as long as things aren't hot or too warm..dry socket shouldn't be a problem.

I actually heard a straw is a sure fire way to get dry socket,since you're creating suction, and it would dislodge the blood clot,making dry socket >_>


remember that girl I told you guys about that was crying because she had west nile and was scared of a hospital bill? She got dry socket from smoking or brushing her teeth and messed up the clot, she sat there with dry socket and wouldn't even go to the hospital then/dentist.....fucking stupid lolol.

Oddly enough, the instructions were the same for the tongue ring. Soft food only (for like 3 days).

I had went to mcdonalds after I got a tooth out and got a burger and a sprite and was about to take a drink with a straw and was like ooohhhh shit I forgot lmao. So I just drank out of the cup



but yea tom gently swish with salt water several times a day, at least 5x a day or so I did, it helps healing and is soothing,doesn't even have to be warm salt water,I used room temp sink water lol.

yea when you think about it technically everybody with wisdom teeth that become rotten and kill you or come in crooked would have died and their genes gone from the gene pool, some people don't get wisdom teeth. idk how long modern humans have been on the earth that can cook food and thus don't need extra molars,but I'm sure it takes a long time, earth is like 4 billion years old

Most people get them removed because either they're impacted or their jaw isn't large enough to accommodate them and they crowd other teeth. And they're of no real use to us anymore anyway.

And I only had 3 of them...so evolution at work.
