Your most disappointing game of the year?

Mine is halo reach.

Agreed. I enjoy it, but I was expecting a game that would last as long as the 360 would. I'll be surprised if it's in the top 5 most played by May.

Reach, easily. I liked it, but compared to a lot of other games, I didn't have that much fun with it.

Game I'm most disappointed I sold: RDR.

Overlord 2. I loved the first one. The second just wasn't as funny.

Red Dead Redemption. It just ran out of things to do too quickly for me, although I loved it until that point. Reach also/

I would say Halo Reach but I got an email today that may make that game hit my 360 again..

Been looking at RDR as a xmas gift.

If you get RDR, make sure you get some friends online, and attack bears with a knife from horseback, it's a riot.

Definitely Reach.

From a technical standpoint it's a wonderful game but it's just not as fun as Halo used to be.

RDR is one of my favorite games of the year.

Most dissapointing....hmmmmm.....honestly Mass Effect 2. I loved the game, dont get me wrong. But mass effect 2 hardly qualifies as an RPG. They stripped almost all the rpg elements, and weapon, and armor custimzation. I wad bummed. It felt like they tried to make a sci fu gears of war with a great convo system(best part of the game). Most will probably disagree.

After that, I decided I'm pretty much done with Rockstar and other sandbox games. I got tired of GTA4, too. RDR just made me want to play Fallout, honestly.

You guys must not be fans of westerns. I even enjoyed both call of jaurez greatly. I thought RDR was amazing.

call of Juares bored both me and my friend Valik a lot. So much I threw the game out the closest window cause Valik was getting his stabby knife ready.

Easily Red Dead Redemption, one of my least favorite games in years. One of the few games ever that I totally regret buying.

Sucks too because I waited years for it, was at the E3 show when they showed the first teaser trailer for it and Red Dead Revolver was one of my favorite games last gen...

I thought it was fun, just lacking in content. For some reason it got really boring really quickly.

Yeah, it did, kinda. You had to really go out of your way to find something fun to do, like attack bears from horseback with a knife, or blow up packs of wolves with dynamite, or try to tie up as many people as you could find before the train comes...makes me want to play again, thinking about it though. xD I'll probably get it when it comes down in price, and just hold on to it as a fun game to play whenever I'm bored with everything else.

I played like RDR like I was sane person.

The problem with the game is they substitutded Content with busy work. Go Find all the flowers and kill all the animals in the game for this bad ass coat you only get to use for the last 7 missons.

Yes. It's like they took a century of awesome western genre tropes. Cut out 90% of the best ideas and western action moments. Took the remaining 10% left over, but only put enough effort into them that they could just barely pass as western. Then add a bunch of fetch-quest filler.

Added in the slo-mo shooting mechanic, but it's been done better in lots of other games.

I effin' love westerns. I'm extra hard on this game because after 5 years of waiting I was expecting awesome content to fill that huge countryside.

EDIT: I forgot to say that I can also appreciate that most people really love it. Just not me.

Probably because I wasn't expecting it to be amazing, I was kind of wondering why it was getting so many 10's before I played it because it didn't look that interesting to me.

Most disappointing game of the year for me is MoH. it could have been alot better! the campaign was ok yet very short. and the MP is sub par.

Most disappointing game ever to me on the Xbox 360 is Two Worlds!!! it had soooo much potential as a coop MP game but the frame rate was horrible and the constant lag was a disgrace!

Two worlds 2 is looking pretty sick derp.

Final Fantasy 13.. It wasn't as good as 1-10 (Excluding 5, not a big fan of >.<)
But Final Fantasy 14 is quite good, despite its stupidity in interface. Only God knows how they managed that one =/

Probably Reach, i like it, but its just not as fun as the other halos or battlefield or CoD.

I loved RDR, but after 100%, it got old. but jousting with knives in MP was a freakin blast with my friend, and hunting cougars, bears with knives on foot. i regret selling it but oh well.

Probs Medal of Honor, and I've never played it. I don't get worked up about games...

I gotta play that. Man Im so far behind. I gotta play reach, medal of Honor, black ops, Mass Effect 2, CoD WaW, RDR, and GTA4. Jeez.

I loved RDR and still do. Finally 100%'d the game so there isnt anything left to do but it ate up a good amount of time and its the only western that ive ever played. The story was great too. I dont see how it was a bad game.

I agree 100% about ME2.

Hands Down Medal of Honor! Got my heart and my wallet broken on that one. BLOPS is second. I'm gonna start skipping pre-order and rent these damn things first.

i would have to say Halo Reach.

I cant believe i bought it, i got tired of the multiplayer after about 8 hours. It was so much like Halo 3.

Plus, halo Campaigns never really get me excited.

How is mass effect 2 compared to 1 anyways? I was planning on getting it sometime, its only 17 bucks and I just beat the first one.

Eh I'll have to go out with my brother so I can buy it with that annoying M on the box. Seriously I don't know why the game is M. Besides some Pg-13 sex scene that won't happen unless you go looking for it, there is absolutely nothing bad in the game at all. There's no blood, gore, or even swearing outside of "ass".

...I feel ripped off almost.

I'm pretty sure that there's a few F bombs here and there, as well as some other seedy stuff. I'd say it's warranted in ME2.

Yah ME1 was a T game but ME2 is definitely deserves its M rating.

But in ME1, you saw side boob/ass, and could have lesbo sex with aliens!!! ha
and symbolic, i do love Reach, its fun to play with friends and all, but compared to Halo 2/3, it just wasnt as fun, and the custom games just werent the same.

Isn't it kind of supposed to be hardly an RPG, more of a hybrid?

Its an rpg because you level up with xp. Thats it. Mass effect 1 had much better, deeper rpg elements that I loved. Mass effect 2 was incredible, but at the same time very dissapointing. Also I would vote for Metroid other M.

An RPG is a role playing game. You do not even need leveling up to be a role playing game.

What did they remove from the first one? It's been a really long as time since I've played it.

They removed a lot of things like armor and inventory but there are actually more original weapons in ME2 then in ME1.
