LOOKY what I just ordered!
A PCF C-15 AR-15 Lower Receiver!
Hey Gun Guys! 32591_10
It's a polymer composite so it's really light and the trigger group is better than that of a standard AR.
I've read up on it and all the reviews say it's a great lower and the awesome part is that it's only $119.00
and comes with everything, including six-position stock. If you look at the company stamp the PCF stands for
"Plum Crazy Firearms" so that's perfect for old Mace.

The AR-15 build will continue...

So you're building your own M16/Ar15?

Oh yeeeesss! It's much cheaper to build one than buy a complete big company name AR. This build will cost me about $620 but a finished AR will set you back about $1200.

AR-15's are legal?

Nevermind, I just remembered you live in Texas. The stereotype actually seems to be kinda true... (My cousin has a few guns, and I think I've met some other people from Texas with firearms.)

They are legal in a ton of places. Really its just a normal semiauto rifle so you dont need any special licenses or anything.

You can even have them in Hawaii and California as long as they have the specs they require. I think in Hawaii it has to have a 10 round magazine and in california it needs to have a non removable magazine (not 100% on these and also includes some other stuff also)

Also that is pretty awesome texasmace. My dad never owned any guns so I never got a chance to hunt or shoot or anything...But I am going hunting with my grandfather pretty soon and I found out my mom has a rifle stashed away that was her brothers...hasnt been used in like 30 years though so we are going to get it check out.

Naw, Erkness just look down the barrel and in the chamber and make sure it's still clean and you can shoot it all day long if it looks okay. I will say that you should buy one of those cheap cleaning kits and go over it a bit and you'll be fine.

Good to see you again, future Marine! My son just graduated his SOI, BTW.

Yes Texans have many guns but you'd be surprised at all the peeps in other states that are very well armed. Hell, Metall is packin' and where does he live!? Whatta' bout tater and his buddy and he lives in a very harsh state for gun laws.

Nice purchase. Building your own means you control the quality of the finished product. I would also say that you should make sure that you get an upper receiver without the handle/rear sight and or at the very least a removable one so that you can add a RDS or something like that. The one we have has an Eotech on it and it makes hitting the target ridiculously easy because of the low recoil of the .223 in general.

A buddy of mine has an AR-15 (M4 style) and we live in New York. He took it out once and I let me hold it. I was surprised by how small and lightweight it was. I've always wanted to buy a rifle, but damn they're expensive, although I was thinking about maybe getting a Saiga chambered in 5.56 come tax time.

Lol, take the first few sentences out of context...

Thanks for the welcome and congrats to your son...cant wait to get there myself. Ive been on every so often but havent posted anything in a while.

About cleaning it an such: My family is kind of worried about it because of an accident that happened with my uncle and his girlfriend. This gun wasnt involved but they arnt sure of its history and make sure its not going to misfire like the other one did. I didnt even know we had it until a few days ago.

Ive been looking at some stuff about building an AR but Im not sure how my parents would react so I havent looked into it too much.

Ante: I can't speak for Saigas but pretty much anything chambered in 5.56 will be a fun gun to shoot and pretty inexpensive when it comes to ammo when compared to .308 or .30-06.

Erk: What kind of rifle is it? I'm guessing it's not a muzzle loader which would mean it should be a bolt action rifle and if that is the case just open the bolt a make sure it isn't loaded and if it's not then you can hold it up to a light and look from the butt of the rifle and look through the barrel for obstructions. If it isn't bolt action then just forget everything I said. Surprised

Also just throwing this in here. This is what I want: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/59291-55.html Rap that up I will take it. Unfortunately the prices of M1As are pretty high so. Mad

Volts got it taken care of.

I'm probably gonna go with a flip up rear sight for now because the Eotechs are way outta my cash range but you are totally right on the upper.

Yeah a flip up sight is good to have even if you have an Eotech or something similar just in case the batteries run out.

Honestly volt I havent even seen it yet. I asked my dad to take it out so I could see what kind of rifle it is but he hasnt done so yet. Its probably a bolt action. It was my grandfathers hunting rifle and my mom made it sound like it was pre WW2.

Nice. Stamp name made me laugh.
I'm more of a handgun guy myself so I have no words of wisdom for rifles. The only ones I've actually owned awere my Chinese AK47 and an SKS, everything else has been pistols.

The trigger is set but I've read that it's perfect so we'll see.

I just took the first step, Sym and that was ordering my lower. I am probably going to go for my upper next but I have to get the kizash first. That's one of the good things about building your own it's kind of like an installment plan.

Hey, Metal an AK and SKS is on my list too.

Good luck on the build Tex!!

And yes the EO tech Holographic sights are pricey!! i looked at one a while back for shits and giggles a 552 at the cheapest used was going for about 5 benjamins.

I myself would love to buy or build an ar15.

EO tech's for less \/\/

The .308's are heavy as hell but they would make a bad ass deer or hog rifle.

Love me some Cheaper Than Dirt!

No guns to speak of since I'm more of a knife person, so I often run around with my Cold Steel Rajah. Sadly, I have not acquired any dog tags yet.
