Depends on what kind of zomibes they are. If they are the slow lumbering George Romero zombies we might have a chance.
If they were the fast, agile, pissed off hordes from 28 Days Later or Left 4 Dead we would be screwed.
Plus zombies can happen whenever. Werewolfes can only come out on a full moon giving us a month or so everytime to prepare.

How many werewolf movies or novels are there were most of the worlds population was killed or turned? Very few, I can't think of any.

Whereas almost every zombie film ever made focuses on one small group of people containing some of the last population of the live world trying to survive for as long as they can.

Werewolves are boring most of the time.

If you haven't read Max Brook's Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z, and are a zombie aficionado, you simply must.

I want read them so bad. But the library and 3 bookstores in my area don't carry them!! And I am too lazy to order them offline.
But I do want to read them.

The first is amazingly funny, the latter spine chillingly scary. Also check out Marvel Zombie series if you like zombies and comics, something that I do to a major degree (as far as the first is concerned).

Also check out The Living Dead by Night Shade Books publishing, which is a collection of short stories featuring zombies.

And as far as movies goes, Lucio Fulci and the Re-Animator series.
The Norweigen Dead Snow is pretty good too.
