Who wants to talk Legend of Zelda, In my opinion the title doesn't make much sense, but i guess it sounds pretty weird to say "the legend of link", I'm accepting any Zelda game.

I've played and beaten almost every Zelda game out there. Outside of several game boy titles, Windwalker, and Zelda 2 (NES) which I belive was called the legend of Link.

My favorite is probably still the SNES version or Ocarina of Time. I'm totally psyched for the new Zelda game, Skyward Sword. I don't know anything about it but I'm still pumped! Very Happy

Ocarina of Time is fucking awesome. One of my all time favorites.

That said, Majora's Mask is just so good, right up there with Ocarina. Majora's just takes a more... mature approach, or so to say. It's one of the most, if not the most, original Zelda for me. Which is weird, considering how it's the sequel to Ocarina, but all the elements that form Majora's are very bizarre and unique (you must play Ocarina first of course, to feel that way).

Ocarina of Time was just so fucking epic though. From the Title Screen to the very end. I don't think any other Zelda can top it. And damn, I played that game so many times, finished it so many times, I love it to death. I was stuck at Kakariko's Village for 2 weeks because I had shitty english back then, I couldn't get past the guard up to Death Mountain.

Majora's must be completed with all side quests to really love it, while Ocarina is easy to love without going through all the sidequests (but I'll be damned if I didn't do them all!). I remember searching for the Triforce in Ocarina because of some rumour <_<

The music, the setting, the characters, and fuck damn the MUSIC! The epicness of obtaining the Master Sword is beyond awesome. Going through the Marketplace and later seeing it devastated, visiting Zelda, saving her in the end.

I'll stop now, I'm just a rabid Zelda fanboy. At least the N64 titles, which I don't think will ever be topped. Close second is A Link to the Past for me.

A Link to the Past, gentlemen.

I also loved Ocarina of Time and the last one.

Zelda games along with other Nintendo games are the reason I still buy Nintendo.

No one can muster up gaming magic like Nintendo.

I agree with everyone who is cool, ocarina of time was the best, then majoras mask, next link to the past, the original arcade, then all the crappy game boy and DS versions.

P.S. heres a mind boggler for ya'll, what time period does the zeldas take place? HEHE

I personally think Majora's Mask is the better game, but Ocarina of Time still has a bigger place in my heart (I'm pretty sure it was one of the first three games I played, right behind Starfox 64 and Glover).

I also loved the handheld games, though people seem to leave them out of their "favorite games" discussions. The Oracle of Ages/Seasons games were AWESOME, and Minish Cap was pretty amazing to.

More recently, I thought Wind Waker was pretty good, but I thought Twilight Princess was a bit of a let down. Don't get me wrong - the graphics were good, and the worldbuilding/atmosphere/characters/THE FUCKING MUSIC were fantastic. But I gotta say, it just felt too easy for a Zelda game. It seemded a little dumbed down for a more widespread audience.

My vote for favourite would have to go to Ocarina - so good in so many ways, and a huge game to me when I was growing up. I never quite finished Majora, but I loved it - so dark, especially watching the cutscene of the moon crashing down.

Just the look of that evil, overbearing face leering down closer and closer each day, and the way the different villagers reacted - some fleeing, others refusing to be moved and meeting a horrible end - not to mention the dying (dead? it was a while ago) Zora and the 'horror' of the three main transformations.

Really something quite special and unexpected from Nintendo. The gameplay mechanics were also much more complicated than previous Zelda's, and it was quite a risk to take (the reason I never finished it was because I got a bit stuck and left it for a while, then when I came back to it I couldn't work out where in the timeline I was supposed to be *facepalm*).

Looking forward to Ocarina on the 3DS, but I'd also like to put a shout out to another Zelda game that's not yet been mentioned - Link's Awakening on the GameBoy, a real melancholy game - I was quite sad when I finished it for a few reasons, and it's one I'll always remember.

A Link to the Past is still to this day my all time favorite game. Give me it over Ocarina any day. I love them all though (well, except Phantom Hourglass and I haven't played Spirit Tracks yet).

I thought Minish Cap was okay, but it seems to be hated a lot.

Also, I don't know what people see in ALttP. It just seems like an average 2D Zelda to me.

Was Link to the Past that over the top camera one? I liked that one. My top list would go:
5-Something other than Windwaker, that one sucked.
4-A Link to the Past (?)
3-Twilight Princess
2-Majora's Mask
1-Ocarina of Time

I remember the first Zelda, I figured out the puzzles in it before my parents, and I was 5 years old at the time.

Link to the Past is THE Zelda game!!! Heres why, for all you youngings:

This is what made Zelda, ZELDA. The puzzles, weapons, story, everything that you know in the games now started here. Ganon was just a gaint pig in the first game, LttP you knew he was human first, you got the Dark World, and it was explained why the Dark was the way it was, OoT expanded on those ideas. You knew the Triforce was three, and Ganon had one, OoT showed how that happened. There a TON in LttP that was started there and has been carried on in every game since.

I beat the original when I was 5, and I had to help my friend beat it when I was 16, even then those puzzles were a bit confusing.

Twilight Princess was ok-ish. Could have been a thousand times better, and the wolf sections got old kinda quick. Fun game nonetheless, but it lacked the "life" that Ocarina of Time has.

You know, how OoT has so many locations, and each and every one of those makes you want to go and explore them (including every last part of the Hyrule Field)? Well, not so much in Twilight.

I think the problem with Twilight Princess was largely in the graphics. Too realistic, too brown (though not during the actual Twilight sections; those worked perfectly). Wind Waker, for example, was vibrant and colorful enough that I had no problem with the crazy long amounts of sailing. The world itself was very cool, but the presentation just wasn't there
