From Wikipedia: Epic Games announced that players must hold on to their saved games for the unlockables from the beta to appear in the full game.

Shit. I hate having a damn 20 gig harddrive. That would have been nice to know, like yesterday when I was clearing up my HDD.

Yeah, you'll be fine. Epic had been saying "Don't delete your save file!" for about a week now. It was all over their forums.
