And boy was it disorganised and terrible Sad
I was going to go for a duke of Edinburgh award which is something to do with teamwork and it looks nice on a CV but it turned into a practice which angered me because I paid money to do it and just walked 20KM for nothing almost.

The group I was with was fun though and we I had a great time on the walk thing we did and it was like I was in another country when I look at how the weather was there and how it was in my town. And the tents were pretty small but cosy.

Must say, the rations we got were icky and I went without food over the weekend because of that and I forgot to drink water yesterday so I was like a dead rat. Although I lost 6 pounds which amazed me.

Kay so, I had a great weekend how about you guys?

Weekends are evil. Mine was just fine though.

Sounds like a good time in general Whee Brit! Hopefully the next one will be better organized.

I heard that the camp place we went to sucked and the others are better. Normally this would stop most cadets from staying in because it's so crappy and we were forced to walk so long.

Well, at least you got a fun group to hang out with. It's always disappointed though when you go to something that sounds like it will be fun, then it's disorganized and/or crappy. Sad

Why didn't you go to one of the other ones?

All the camps are set in different areas. This one was one the crappy ones though. Oh I forgot to mention.. I stepped on an Adder and it spazzumed and tried to attack me and I was freaked out and grabbed it by the tail and threw it into a river.. It nearly gave me a heart attack!

D: Lucky you didn't get bit; aren't adders quite poisonous? Or am I mixed up with another type of snake?

I think they ... are... like water moccasins?

That's what I was thinking for some reason. I used to know a lot about stuff, but I haven't studied for a long time Sad Either way, if I see a snake that's not a garter snake, it gets the "shovel treatment"

Here is what wiki says
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adder

Now much, but yes poisonous snake. Icky.

Glad you did not get bitted Whee Brit!

I am not sure if they are very poisonous to be honest, if they are I think I hurt it more than me considering I death gripped it and threw it into a river and I wouldn't let a snake bite me anyway.

EDIT : Well I just read that and now I am glad it didn't bite me Smile

Well, it's good to know you threw it away though. Sometimes those suckers can just wait in the grass for you to walk by and nail your ankles.

Good thing I had walking boots on eh? Covers my ankles

Yeah; I think they actually make a special type of boots that go up to your knees for people that go hunting in rattlesnake country where I live. They're really weird.

Oh? That sounds uncomfortable to walk in to me

They probably are, but I guess they're supposed to save your life, especially when you're getting older (and it's easier for heart failure when you get bit), so I guess that outweighs it. They do sound difficult to walk in though, I admit, lol.
