If you put C4 right next to the ceiling on the inside wall, it will kill someone on the second floor.

I always throw mine through the window or on the outside wall of the second story.
this seems much easier.

Yep, shooting people up through wooden floors works; I used to do it all the time, but my favourite was with LMGs, because half of the time it would make them panic and jump out the window, then I'd just kill them even easier.

Yeah xD I think they see the bullets coming up through the floor and panic; shooting people through floors doesn't work nearly as well as in Call of Duty though. I used to do it in CoD4 using the SAW with Stopping Power and Deep Impact.
