so i think im going to start mass producing iron and gold tools..
think this is a good idea or would it be smarter to just sell it and keep with the stone tools?

erm, i tend to use stone tools, since cobble is so easy to get hold of and there is a forest right outside the SeC Razz

gold tools are worthless as gold has really low durability IIRC.

yeah, the wiki says gold are the fastest tools, but they run out fast and can only mine cobble, stone, coal and slabs.

so dont use coal for tools Razz

Iron can mine diamond, stone can't. And anyway. Don't mass produce since we have anvils now.

I just use diamond picks all the time. If you really wanna be cost effective use a ton of stone tools and then a diamond when you run into gold or diamond

That's why I'm trying to do. But I want to get my repair skill high enough so I don't "run" through diamond tools.

Keep repairing tools. Stone is real easy to find and it "breaks" faster. It's a good way to boost your repair skill.

Gold actually has the fastest destroy time for tools, but the durability makes it extremely impractical. Line up 10 Netherrack, then line up another 10 netherrack, and hit each of them in a row with a diamond, then the gold, and compare. It's insane. Gold tools are only really good for admin though (can be stacked) or when hacked it with unlimited durability (gold tools are also only good against coal and lower)
