BF vietnam. the squad killer

so i was playing with the night shift and someone suggested SDM but with a twist, we play on vietnam. IMO it was a refreshing change. shortly after playing SDM we changed to conquest on operation hastings (my favorite vietnam map) and it took about 5 minutes of gameplay and everyone quit. I don't understand this hatred of vietnam. I acknowledge the DLC does have a few flaws (paper helicopters, all guns are OP, lots of camping and it can be hard to find games) yet these flaws doesn't change that vietnam is thoroughly fun for me. I guess it's the flamethrowers that do it for me.

tbh, i just left because i had gotten killed by M40s like 4 times in a row... and i was doing awful. anything that wasnt an M40 killing me was an AK.

plus, trying to keep the Huey up is really frustrating.. sorry about leaving though

no worries zillah. maybe we could try SDM again if we had more people to fill the squads.

I just left because everyone else did really. I wouldn't have minded playing some more, but everyone leaving kinda turned me off from BF for the night.

I know what you mean, all my friends despise Vietnam but I think its actually quite fun to play.One reason that my friend gave for hating it was teh fact he thought the sensitivity was different than in Bad company 2 so it was really messing with him anytime he switched from game to game. tbh I like 1943 more than Vietnam

one issue with 1943. when i want to take up a plane i have to change my controls so i'm not inverted then change back after wards. other than that 1943 is a great game.

inverted is cool if that's what you are used to but my issue is ground controls are opposite from air controls. i play uninvented and i understand that if you were in a real plane pulling back (down) gives you lift but if i set the controls to be down is down and up is up for the ground then why doesn't that translate to the airplane's. It's an obvious mistake that will never be fixed.

i like inverted up down controls on a plane, its more realistic

can you not independently change the air controls in 1943? thats weird.

I really like Vietnam Conquest.Not really into the other modes though.Im working on getting platinum stars on the M16 and M14.

Hrmm... I've played Vietnam maybe once or twice. I should probably give it another try, but I'm uncomfortable with the equipment. I paid for the DLC, and I can't even name the maps or weapons.

operation hastings is such an awesome conquest map. it feels like a big old playground, except with tanks, and choppers.

Operation Hastings is an excellent map.

IMO best BC2 map for conquest

Vietnam feels so static compared to vanilla, in my opinion. That and no one is usually playing. 6v6 is not battlefield.

i get 12 v 12 during the day on hastings

You can find full games on Hastings and Pui Bai just about any time of the day.

one thing vietnam has going for it is flame throwers and no motion mines

the best part of vietnam was the music. I don't hate Nam, I just don't think its as good as the original, but I will still play it.

The maps were just choke point after choke point (other than Hastings and Phu Bai). Remember the first Mcom on Vantage point? the Defenders and Attackers can hurl grenades into one anothers spawn area. The guns were NOT balenced (AK47, PPSh, and M40 ) The vehicles sucked. I can't stay up in the Huey and if your not gunning on the tank you might as well not even bother shooting

Veitnam expansion? More like the CoD expansion featuring vehicles.

dont forget the tuktuk and jeeps which have absolutely zero traction. the jeep can only barely crawl up even the slighest of inclines.

I like Nam except its so hard to SEE things. I dunno how else to explain it. But its like everything is blurry around the edges and I can never spot the guys.

This. Vanilla is fine on my 27 inch SDTV, but 'Nam is just a mess of green and various shades of brown and rust. Oh, and weapon balance flew out the fucking window.
