Yes. This weather is awful.
The night before last we had a HUUGE storm, and it knocked out some power grids just east of here. The way to work was flooded and I had to find a detour, and I was 30 minutes late.
Then I get home from work, turn on my AC, take a nap, and wake up to SICK fucking heat. I was covered in sweat. Then I realized the power was out. At 4:30 pm, 12 hours after the storm... and my neighbors across the street had power, and also four houses north. So we were just at the edge of the power grid that went down. Everyone's ACs are humming noisily, they've got lights on in their house, and I'm sweating on the porch, reading by candle light until I'm tired enough to finally fall asleep in the godforsaken humidity.
ON A POSITIVE NOTE: I'm going over my parents' house to go swimming. woot.
