Are Deus Ex 1 and 2 really as good as people make them out to be? I'm on the fence about buying them and I'd like some feedback from the most trusted source on the interbutt.
Also, Human Revolution needs to come out faster. This wait is killing me.
I never played the first. I seem to remember really liking 2, but I also remember wishing there was more to it and it was more fleshed out. Been to long to say for sure. I've never considered it one of my greats though.
After watching the last couple vids of 3 I think I'll be passing on it. The main character looks like they tried way to hard to make him ultra cool-guy looking to the point he looks like a mega-dork.
The first is one of my favorite games of all time. Its still amazing to this day IMO. I liked the second, but it was a step back from the first. If your interested in the series, I would highly recommend playing at least the 1st. I as well cannot wait for Dues Ex HR. Only a few more weeks!

I've played HR, he is not a dork. Adam Jensen is definitely a bad ass.
The first one can be unforgiving as old games go and also very frusturating but I played it maybe a year or so ago for the first time and it was still very fun.
Deus Ex is one of my favorite games ever. If opened my eyes to the fact the FPS can be so much more than running down hallways and shooting people.
It made you think, the options were seemingly endless, the atmosphere was amazing, the story was deep, the characters were memorable, JC Denton is without a doubt one of my favorite video game characters.
DE IW was pretty good too, but like Syn said it was a minor step backwards to become more accessible for new players, but at the end of the day most of the stuff I said about DE applies to IW as well.
Looking forward to HR, probably my most anticipated game next to B:AC, BF3, and Skyrim.
Here's a link to a guy doing a pretty detailed playthrough of DE if anyone is interested in seeing what it's like.
