After a while a topic that stops being responded to is declared "dead". Forums usually don't like people bringing back a dead topic after a month or so (AKA posting on it).

I guess I shouldn't worry about that too much here but if you go on a tech forum like Tom's Hardware, they threaten to mod you if you bring back 1-2 month old topics on more than one occasion.

yeah it's called necrobumping.

it doesn't happen on this forum because after you leave for a while you can't find any old topics because they've been buried under new stuff... and most people don't bother looking past the first page.
