I'm pretty sure that stores make more than a thousandth of a cent in profit on most items.

Inventory shrinkage is normally already part of their budget, they know it's gonna happen one way or another.

Oh yeah and I forget while this isn't total shoplifting, I have swapped the prices at big lots before to save a couple bucks.
