My digital painting - Master Chief vs. Predator

Ok, it's a long time since I posted any work on here but I really appreciate the feedback I got last time so here we go

I'm gearing up to open my website soon, and this is the most ambitious picture I've ever painted - I want to basically launch the site with it, for that exact reason. But I thought I'd run it on here to get a little feedback before everything goes live...!

No-one else has actually seen it yet - my girlfriend's seen it almost finished, but she's out right now so no dice haha. (She just got home while I was getting ready to post this!) I've been keeping it pretty hidden from friends and family, as I want to use the 'reveal' to drive a bit of traffic to the site when it's all up.

I'll continue to add to my portfolio after the site is up, but basically as soon as it is I will be looking for a new job and hopefully make a career out of this stuff (scary but exciting thought).

About the picture: I used a few reference images (for armour details, colour etc.), but it's all painted by hand using a Wacom tablet and Photoshop.

It's called 'Duel', but I thought the topic title would be more likely to get SeCers in here to check it out, hahaha

This is an exciting time for me, and I'd be lying if I wasn't a bit shit scared to put my work 'out there' and have people judge it. If I can't get paid to do this stuff, honestly don't know what I'll do - sick of my office job.

Even just putting it out to a group of relative strangers such as your (admittedly lovely) selves is a biggie for me, and really helps.

People probably already know, but I just found you can right click, view image and then zoom in to see it at full size - it's posted here a little smaller than I expected...

I like the shallow depth of field. the little details look superb such as the light emitted from the energy sword.

Frost, the yellow is meant to be sparks from his busted plasma caster - I matched it with the same effect used in Predator 2 when it gets shot off. I can definitely look into tweaking it if it's not obvious enough though, thanks for the comments!

I'm an 80s kid, haha, some of you guys are a little down on your Predator anatomy!

Edit: oh, and constructive criticism is a good thing - much more helpful than just saying it's cool when you think there's something wring with it! I won't take offence, I'm still learning how to do this stuff all the time, it's still kinda new to me

It's meant to be missing completely   they just kinda sit on the shoulder, there's not much left after they're gone from what I could find - they're just propped up on a stalk, pretty much.

Maybe it would be better if I paiinted one in there just kinda hanging off, rather than totally gone and out of shot....hadn't thought of that, could be cool....thanks!
