I thought the same thing. I was ready to call it BS. I can't see what he'd gain by lying about that though. The fact that it looks like a photo is a huge credit to you man.

I don't even understand how the water is done. I can't figure it out. Can't. It's freaking me out man.

Grey-Its arches Hotpress,140 gram.Its an archival cotton paper,no wood.This stuff will outlive your great grand kids.

Ducksaws-maybe waldo is in there.Its drawn from a photo ive taken of a river I fish.

Sheep-Im not exactly sure how long it took but over 100 hours,the drawing is 14"x 9".Its why I only do one or two a year.Kind of sucks that by the time I start another Im out of practice but the time it takes is hard to come by.The one Im doing now is about 3x this size.

As for the blur,its the scan,its washed out as well.The blacks are actually black in the drawing.

thats seriously good work, do you have a scan of the photo for comparison?

if you used a tripod mounted camera you could get an unwashed/unfaded picture of it in great quality

Grader... I don't know how you manage not to kill yourself doing these things. 100 hours? Screw that!

Do you just shade in around the water area to give it definition?

[img][/img]Here's the photo adli.Its just a standard sized photo,so the details get hard on the eyes after awhile.
Sheep-its hard to explain,its very detailed,alot of fine shading,almost like a very small puzzle.

This is really an incredible piece of work. Did you trace the original photo at all, or use a grid to scale it up - or did you do it by eye?

Granted, I have no artistic ability whatsoever in the traditional arts. Ehat has tried to teach me to draw but I've never been great.

That is awesome, over 100 hours is way too long for my patience to handle but the outcome is truly amazing. Congratulations on being a pro artist for scenery.

Madewithrobots-No tracing,no grid.I plot a few points on major structures when I scale up for reference just to keep me on track.With the time involved I dont want to risk messing up on the placement/spacing of major structures and I need to keep the erasing to a minimum,cant hurt the paper.

Mrs Hat-Never tried painting,I always liked graphite/black and white.I never found out till years latter that there are professional graphite artist,that do amazing things with pencils.Seeing the things they were able to do really got me on it.
