DL update

Ok folks back at work today. My neck is still a little sore but I think I'll live.

So I was rear ended on the expressway Monday and the girl said she didn’t know I was stopped but everyone was stopped on the expressway. At first I thought I was fine but then my left arm went numb on me so the police officer called ems.

EMS arrives and puts a neck brace on me, and then puts me on a back board and straps me down. They go to pick me up and the male ems slips or something and they drop me…. He ends us getting caught under the backboard and hurts himself.

Hospital said I pinched a nerve or something and I got some muscle relaxers, and pain meds to help. Also while I am at the hospital after they wheel me from getting xrays and a cat scan I notice in the room next to me that the EMT is laying on a bed and had to be admitted because he hurt his back!
Then yesterday I wake up and find out they towed my car to the impound lot so instead of resting I had to deal with the insurance co, go to the police station downtown to get a copy of the report, and then go get my car out of the impound lot, and it wouldn’t start so I had to get a tow truck.
Last two days have been a freaking mass for sure!

That sucks about your car man, but at least your ok.

They dropped you? wtf? That's kinda weird that your car won't start after they impound it..

It wouldn't start after I got hit. SOmeone at work told me that there is an emergency fuel shutoff that probably got flipped. Wish I would have known about that earlier =o/


But yea they dropped me. It was pretty fucked up.

Yeah there is a fuel shut of solenoid on most cars nowadays. I'm not sure how you reset it though. I think you disconnect the negative battery cable for about 30 secs it might reset the computer on your car.

Meh. I'm not the sueing kinda guy. Accidents happen. As long as my car gets fixed and my medical gets covered I'll be fine.

I'm glad you're ok man. Sounds like a huge pain in the ass.

Glad to hear you're alright. As for the car not starting, what Terry said is right for most cars.

Yea. I think that must be it. A few guys at work said the same thing. Hopefully it starts and at least I'll have a drivable car.

How bad's the damage on the car? Sounds like you got hit pretty hard.

Good to hear you don't have anything serious with your neck. My cousin nearly had both of her vertebrae fused together after she fell off some monkey bars. She was on a hospital bed for a few days with these huge screw/bolts in her head pulling it up and then in a HALO for a week or two. Now she needs to wear a neck brace for 6 months.

Neck injuries SUCK.

you never know you may have medical bills for the rest of your life. underlying neck problems from now on.
