2011 NCAA football season discussion thread.

Well it was a rather un eventful week 1, as usual. But there were alot of little things I noticed around the country. Here are my observations from week one.

- Oregon got owned by a real defense yet again. That makes 4 in a row. Boise State, Ohio State, Auburn and LSU all killed that gimmick offense. Couldn't make me happier.

- Charlie Weis was a very good hire for Florida. John brantley looked much better than he ever did last season, and Rainey and Demps are friggin scary.

- Texas still looked "meh". I dont know what the hell Mack Brown is doing down there.

-(homer post) Luke Fickell is the man. It was Akron, but the Buckeyes literally played the entire roster, including walk ons the entire game. 12 true frosh got playing time, and a few were VERY impressive, like our Braxton Miller. Our defense is as scary as ever.

- Same with Alabama. The young QB's looked OK, but the turnovers gotta stop obviously, but I think Alabama and Ohio State have the best defenses in the nation. Just mean, fierce, smart and fast. Whomever plays these two teams will get beat the hell up. Just watch, both will finish in the top 5 in every defensive category.

- Oklahoma's offense is scary. Jones and Broyles is a great combo. Pretty interesting that a walk on is now the number 1 back as well. Defense needs some work, but I do believe the Sooners have the best offense right now in the country of the "real" teams.

- Joe Adams is a stud

- Notre Dame is still a joke, and Michigan did ZERO to impress me.

- Look for Northwestern to be a surprise team this season and finish in the top 25.

- Nebraska has a PATHETIC pasing game. Im not worried about them at all. Fickell will take their lunch.

-USC almost lost to fucking Minesota at HOME? huhhhhhhhhh?

All in all, it was a good weekend. Week 2 is just 4 days away.

- Most over rated teams

- Texas A&M
- Oklahoma State(LMAO)
- Nebraska
- Virginia Tech

OU is off this weekend. It will give me a chance to watch a lot of other teams play.





Next weekend though.... Going after them Noles!

Honestly I should have put FSU in my most over rated teams. I think you guys beat them by 14+. They have little chance IMO. Oklahoma is a beast this season.

- On a side note, as you can see I watch as many games as possible every Saturday. Been doing since I was a child.

Having 3 kids severly limits my TV time. But I watched a lot anyway. Caught the Auburn Utah State game. Oh my god, Utah State you mother fuckers.....







Florida State worries me. OU is so different on the road. But we historically own FSU so I feel pretty excited about the game.

Oh yea. LOL at Auburn. What a joke........pisses me off Utah State chocked the game away. It would have been hilarious to see the MIGHTY SEC lose to a division 2 team. Auburn will be lucky to finish .500 this season.

The massive amounts of fans that left before Auburn came back was disgusting. Sit there and support your team!!!

Some good football this weekend. TCU vs Baylor was fun to watch, and Maryland got a new quaterback! at the expense of their dignity (those uniforms were bleh)

The uniforms were something else. Competing with Oregon for most fugly look.



Downed the Canes too. Good job Maryland.... Good job.

The Cowboys are stupidly over rated. T Boone Pickens can fuck off with those new Oregon wanna be unis as well. This game will be closer than yo think, but Arizona doesnt have enough punch to pull it off though.

Somebody wanna explain to me how the hell Miami only had their players suspended for one game? the NCAA is a joke, seriously. Lets see....

- In 2010 AJ Green was caught selling his jersey to an agent, he got one game.

- In 2010 Terelle Pryor, Boom Herron, Devier Posey, Soloman Thomas and Mike Adams basically do the same thing, and get 5 games. ESPN goes on a witch hunt to burn the program down and finds nothing. Even the FBI found nothing.

- The U(lol) is caught by Yahoo possibly doing the dirtiest shit since SMU. Ten plus years of money, pay outs, hits on opposing players, prostitutes, drugs and abortions and get 1 game? WTF?

This shit isnt adding up. Miami is going to get hammered for sure, but the inconsistency the NCAA displays is alarming.

I thought these penalties were self-imposed by the school. The real punishment is probably coming from the NCAA. I may be wrong though.

What Im confused about is why the NCAA has not done anything? When OSU came forward last year about our violations, the NCAA was on that shit ASAP. We had a penalty handed down by the NCAA by the Sugar Bowl. Miami's AD and coach has to know these guys will be found ineligible.

Yea. Besides those horrid uniforms, they looked pretty solid. Granted Miami was terrible.

What is the damn deal with teams and uniforms lately? This is not a modeling show. Okie State will have something pretty on tonight. Count on it.

Ok that was a boring game. Arizona SUCKS! As does the entire Pac 12. Blah. Okie State i remain is probably the most over rated team in America in the early season. Blackmon is a beast, and Weeden is pretty good, but other than that, they have an entire team of very average players. Especially the sieve they call a defense.

I turned it off when it was 21 to 0. The Packers Saints game was much more exciting.

FIU is beating Louisville 21-3 right now...T.Y. Hilton is killing the Louisville D, halfway through the 2nd quarter and he has 156 yds receiving and 2 TDs(also 36 return yds).
