intel i7 @ 2.20ghz
8gb ram
switchable graphics between a nice radeon and a crappy intel integrated.

I can't seem to get systems labs to recognize the other graphics card so it keeps thinking all I have in here is the intel HD card.

Download MSI afterburner and see what GPU it says you have there.

if i tell systems requirements to evaluate me for EVE, it goes to the intel HD card and if I tell it to evaluate for BF3 it goes to the radeon card, except that it thinks the radeon card has 0mb or video ram.

You might have to change it in the Bios. Maybe Tom could give you better advice. Im not used to laptops TBH. Never had that issue before.

yeah. I figured it out. The default is that you assign each process to either the graphics card or the integrated one. But I changed it so it the laptop uses one or the other at a time.

yeah. This thing is awesome. Lenovo ideapad y470.

8gb ram
500gb hard drive
intel i7 2.20ghz, think it's a quad core
and that nice gpu
and it's probably like 6 pounds or something. This thing is tiny and compact.
and it was $750, free shipping in less than a week.

I'd recommend one of these to anyone. Only downside is the small screen -14 inch- but that's kind of offset by the portability.
