Recommend me a new laptop?

This would be for my daughter. It doesn't need to be crazy powerful, basically I'm looking for:


-On the inexpensive side (I'm betting she'll beak it within 3 months)
-Preferably in the 15" range on the screen. Any bigger and they seem to get huge.
-Doesn't need a huge HDD. 300 gigs would be far more than plenty.
-Doesn't need more processing power or ram than enough to run Photoshop (a lighter version like elements)
-All it needs to do is internet. Word processing for school. Photoshop. Hmm.. a cd/dvd writer might be cool, but isn't necessary at all.

Any good ones you guys can point me at?

I'm not sure if this fits all your requirements, but I have a stock Lenovo X220, and it's been more than enough for most everything school-related. With Windows 7, it's been wonderful for me. I don't know about Photoshop itself, but GIMP 2.0 runs smoothly, as well as being able to do music editing in Audacity, and play pretty much any game I can download.

My dad sells laptops specifically for your kind of need... cheap laptops that don't need to do much other than internet and stuff. He just buys broken ones on ebay, fixes them, and sells them to people he knows so I don't know if he'd sell one over the internet.

But I'll tell you that he mainly sells Dell Inspirons so you could look there.
