Remote control PC anyone?

I have a PC at home, running either Windows 7 Ultimate or Professional, not sure, and I want to be able to turn it on and off remotely using my iphone. Besides apps, anyone have a suggestion?

Throw your phone at it as hard as you can. Hopefully you will break it enough to make it stop running...... thats all I got

make it run on steam, then time your central heating to come on just before you get home from school?

turning off the PC should be easy to do with a RDM app (remote desktop management) however that would not work for turning it back on.

i honestly can not conceive of anything that could turn on the PC as it would require physical intervention to power it up.

you could go all rube goldberg and build some kind of machine that could control your power supply and also hit your PC power button which is all controlled by the phone.

If you do build this machine i demand pictures.

Better idea:
I just told my sister to hit the power button when she gets home an hour before me.

better is debatable. you solution makes perfect sense but is it really a 'better' idea than mine?

Not on, unless the computer goes into a hibernate mode like a tv.
