You know, I realized something. I am forever doomed to rock a 1.2/3 K/D ratio in any online shooter.

Seriously. I was looking thru my stats on BF3, Gears 2 and 3, Halo 3, and various other games.

On each game I have either a 1.2 or a 1.3 KD. I can't ever get it higher, but its never lower.

But my WL is always astounding. I have a 3.28 I think in BF3, a 3.8 on Gears 2, and a 4.8 on Gears 3.

I may win a ton, but I seem to be forever doomed to slightly above mediocrity.

I had a 2.0 KD in Killzone 3 , but I'm usually right around 1.3 as well.

I'm happy as long as I win tho....and at least stay at 1.0 k/d

Terry is proud to sport a nice fancy 1.5-2.0 on most shooters.

PC shooters like TF2 and Counter-Strike just destroyed my K/D. Mine is just around 1 now on PC.

It takes more skill to be good on PC compared to consoles. Some on here wont like hearing it, but its true.

I do pretty well in TF2 but suck horribly in CS.

It also has something to do with the fact that casual players, those pretty much SUCK! in the eyes of better players, tend to move on when there is a new triple A titles come out. So the older the game is, the less sucky players are to be found. And those people whom stuck with that old game, had MASSIVE amounts of time perfecting their techniques, resulting in higher entry barrier. At a certain point, one's skill starts to plateau due to limitations in human ability, unless you have some super human ability to forever evolve without moving onto the next generation, and this plateau is sort of equal among the better players (though slightly specialized in different areas). Therefore, it becomes somewhat a frustrating experience playing some of the older multiplayer titles.

Believe me I know that feel. (I have a .69 K/D in CS:S, that is somewhat because of the custom games I play though)

I think I had somewhere around a 3.0k/d on BC2 for 360 and a 2.3k/d on PC. Playing on PC really helps you hone those reflexes quick though...

I've been at 1 as far as I remember.

Even playing CS as a kid I remember going even on a good deal of matches, although I have my moments.

Ugh, one bad game of Gears 3 and I dropped to 1.3 again. Then after 6 good games I finally brought it back up.

K/D don't mean shit unless you exclusively play TDM. Win/Loss, that's the data that counts.

^You're not going to be winning games if youre dyeing every 10 seconds.

Agreed. But if you're going neutral or relatively positive, and helping your team out, that's perfectly respectable.

K/D makes or breaks a close game of conquest and is absolutely vital on rush as attackers.

Points don't necessarily equate to helping the team either. Play against a bad team and you can bum rush a crate a few times to get it, play against a decent/good team and you're just draining tickets. Not dying is most certainly pretty important as rush attackers.
