^ you wouldn't be able to tax it easily if it was legal, since the smuggling networks would just carry on smuggling. if you can't stop the flow of illegal drugs how are you going to tax the flow of legal drugs?

the only way to tax it would be to make a cheaper, superior strain of weed in order to drive the illegal drug market out of business. but i doubt that the government would follow that, they would probably try to mass-produce really shitty quality weed and sell it for a high price.

unless they get everyone convicting of growing weed to work for them and create a super-strain of weed that is cheaper to distribute than illegal strains XD

I think it's funny that it's easier to die from drinking too much water than from ganja(which would equal like 20,000 blunts in 10 mins) who has the money for that much anyway?

Isn't it somewhere near 1,500 ounces of weed in a quarter hour to overdose? Whereas with alcohol, the effects are a lot more damaging sooner.

Tell me about it. I went to a tool tribute concert last weekend and one guy beside me was so fucking wasted he was practically grinding me cause he couldn't stand up...like seriously people handle your fucking shit. I had to push him off of me I don't know how many times.

actually it's 1500 punds of pure THC you would need more than that in terms of actualy cannabis.

If farmers were given the right to grow marijuana completely legally without fear of being busted by the feds, the price would go down dramatically. Theres no reason why marijuana should be inherently more expensive to grow than tobacco. The only reason it's so expensive right now (say, compared to tobacco) is because it normally is grown in small amounts and passes through many suppliers, who each raise the price along the way before it reaches the final buyer.

Legalization would streamlize everything and bring the price ay down.

that's a fair point, but if there is no penalty for growing and selling it, and the growers already have it hidden since its currently illegal, they can avoid tax and still sell it legally unless there is some kind of ''official government drug dealer'' kind-of deal going on where the govt dealer can keep track on which growers pay tax on it and arrest those who dont

There would be a penalty for growing and selling it. Just like tobacco. In my state I believe you get in more trouble for growing tobacco then you do for marijuana.

But yeah the tax system works good for tobacco, it would be a great revenue source with marijuana as well.

And trust me, the gov't can make some good stuff, you know like G13.

Alcohol puts a greater number of people in danger faster. Also, it leads to some pretty serious drunken rage. That's all I have to say.
