Sounds really expensive... probably won't be getting one till the prices drop.

My plan is to use the money I'd spend on the next Xbox and get a good PC instead.

thats what im doing. no point taking a gaming console and a work laptop to uni when a multimedia laptop will be just fine.

I think N america and Europe is having a major shift to PC gaming the past year or so, which is great to see.

outdated consoles and expensive Next-Gens matched by PCs is a large factor i think. the recent drive for graphics just isn't working on the 360 and PS3 in comparison to the PC. sure, Skyrim on the 360 looks great, but the PC blows it out of the water. if you want amazing graphics you need a PC, and since more people want amazing graphics, more people are getting PCs.

i'll still use a 360 gamepad for Just Cause 2 though, fuck digital driving/flying/parachuting.

I use for gamepad for all console games like JC2. Its another misconception that you have to use M/KB for everything. I used my gamepad for JC2, Batman AC and AA and many more games.

try to drive a Hamaya Cougar at top speed with digital controls... its nigh impossible.

I need a joystick to fly jets in BF3. They handle like a three legged giraffe with m/kb.

Well there is a good chance that Sony and MS will have much cheaper consoles with a monthly pay-plan just like the cell phone industry. Smart move on their part.

In fact isn't MS testing that with the current 360 somewhere?
