Your Experience taking a Driving Test?

I am taking my test tomorrow and I have to say I am pretty nervous. Even though I can drive decently, i feel like I am going to fuck up and just make one mistake that makes me fail the whole thing. Anyways I have to ask is what was your experience taking the driving test?

I aced by actual drivers test for the most part but ironically failed my written permit test two times.

Its pretty easy man. Just relax and pay attention and you will do fine.

First time I took it I failed because I missed a left-turn lane. Not really my fault, the stupid instructor didn't tell me to turn there until I was practically at the turn (I would've had to get in the lane immediately to make it)and the paint was so worn off the road I was barely able to see there even was a turn lane. Three other people failed that morning for the same reason. >_>
Second time I passed it easily.

I failed it once because my tags were expired. make sure your tags arent expired.

My teacher was a cool guy.

"That sign says we should take that turn at 30 MPH. We're taking it at 50. Don't screw up."

@Sym I actually almost failed my written test the first time because even though it said that you could skip problems and do them at the end, you couldn't. It just marked all skipped problems and wrong.

@Zillah Yeah my tags were just renewed in March.

Make sure that none of your turn signal bulbs are burned out. Just be calm and relaxed, remember to use your turn signals even if you think it might not be necessary.

Drink lots of alcohol before your driver's test. It shows character.

Well Tom i am the guy that failed his driving test 4 times because the place i took it at was really strict here are the reasons
1. Didn't turn my turn signal going down a bending road(seriously wtf), didn't fully stop at the stop sign (i swear to this day that i did)
2.Accidentally hit a cone when i went to parallel
3.Ran out of reverses/forwards for the parallel
4.Didn't signal getting out of the parallel

IF this tells you anything it means you can keep on trying if you fail. I'd ask someone in your area for a good DMV to go to. I did get my DL on the 5th try at a different DMV, but then again i didn't really mess anything up and their course was a lot nicer.


I'd take the smallest car you have avaliable, i used a 97 jeep grand cherokee and it's not the most aerodynamic car.

I passed on my first time.....

Granted, I got 16 out of 15 mistakes, and she still let me get it.

But my friend who drives better then I do had to take it 5 times. 1st he ran a stop sign because a bus blocked the sign and I don't know the others. Had a sexist instructor for one of them.

Well I passed. I was so nervous though that I made a couple of minor stupid mistakes, which caused me to get a 91.
