Well fuck me in my butthole, I don't have the right power cable for my soundcard. I thought what I had were a bunch of molex's but they're sata's I think....

EDIT: Ok, maybe I do have the right cables and I was looking at the wrong port. Shut up.

But really, it's a pretty nice sound card. Gives my headphones plenty of volume now. I think all the people on head-fi saying amps drastically effect sound quality of headphones that already get enough volume are batshit insane though.

Weird that this card has Dolby Headphone on by default for it's music mode though... I mean it's cool and all but it totally distorts how the artist would want you to hear their song.

I would imagine sound card of that quality would have an option to disable it.

Yeah it's easy to disable, but it's just on by default in music mode. I was scratching my head for a while wondering if a new soundcard/amp could be drastically altering the song I was listening to yesterday by so much.


Another annoying thing is that it doesn't up the sample rate to 48k when switching to games mode... Dammit now I have to press two buttons when switching to games instead of one!
