So what with all the apple hate topics recently it seems like alot of us are quite adamant against apple's products. I'm also trying to cut apple out of my life since I've educated myself on PCs and the tech world.

The only thing I have left that is apple is iTunes and I'd like to get rid of that too but are there any other players/library managers that work as well as iTunes? I'm pretty OCD when it comes to the organisation of my tunes.

What are you guys using instead of iTunes?

Windows Media Player

Its what I use.

Are you looking for like a store format like Itunes?

I'm adamantly against Apple computers, but I'll admit I love my iPhone. So I got nothing man, I'm pretty ok with iTunes

No I just like the organisational aspects of iTunes. It's easy to edit album art and metadata. And I like the cover flow view. That's about it.

I haven't actually bought music in almost 10 years haha.

so you like it but you want to change it because of ideology?

god damn, tech companies are like fucking political parties these days.

I would suggest gatorade media player though

Well it's not totally on principal. It is a factor yes but not the only one.

it's good and all and it worked well when I had an iPod but like 60% of my library is in m4a format which isn't supported on my phone which has become my new portable music player. And my library is quite huge so it would be a royal pain in the ass to go through it all and find only the ones in m4a format delete only those and get mp3 versions.

It would just be alot easier to delete everything and start from scratch in a new library.

Yeah I used to use winamp like 7-8 years ago. That's what I have on my phone so I suppose it would make sense to get it on my pc too.

I also use Winamp. It has the best library management out of any player I have ever used. It somehow managed to successfully tag all of my songs, no media player has ever done that before, most miss about 50. Also compatibility with most every format except I have trouble with my lossless m4a files.

Songbird is another good one. Looks slick yet simplistic(I gotta say winamp is fucking ugly), but it has a slow bootup time and is a memory hog.

I don't like apple either but I've itunes for so long now it would feel weird switching XD

winamp is pretty cool too, I never messed around with it enough to customize it how I liked however....It was cool when you're playing a song it would bring up band info and stuff,I thought that was a nice feature

I remember somebody recommended this one called GOM awhile back or something, was going to check into it but never did

itunes can take forever to load up sometimes and is a resource hog

i use media jukebox. Used to use winamp but for some reason my laptop makes it skip songs when I tap on the palm rest area.

I just downloaded and installed Winamp...they sure changed it since I used it last. Works pretty good and I can use it to Sync my phone. Looks like I'll stick with this. Editing the metadata is just as easy as iTunes and that was my major concern.

I've had a Zune player for quite some time now. I've always used it and love the interface with it. Don't know how it does with all the stuff that you might want to use it for or do, but it works fine for me. I really love the Zune Pass too. $15 a month and you get any 10 songs you want to keep forever, plus unlimited access to all the music.
