For some reason, when I look at some music (specific CDs and songs) in my iPhone, they appear greyed out and I can't listen to em. Anyone know what causes this?

iTunes sucks. Lament that you're forced to use syncing software for music. Or use sharepod.

Erase iTunes. Download non-shitty app, such as CopyTrans. Never look back.

four posts, nothing helpful. Thanks guys. The problem with switching is that I don't know how I'd be able to use a third party music system with my Apple produect (iPhone 3gs)

To be fair guys, he did say he would not know how to use a third party program with his product. Its not like he outright ignored you guys and went "HALLO! GUYS! WHAT I DO!??!"

Well at least give it a try. Get sharepod. it works like windows explorer. You just open up your ipod like it's a thumbdrive and organize your music as if it were the My Music folder on windows. When you disconnect, everything is where you want it to be. I've never found any music software that is more efficient than just dragging and dropping files in windows explorer, which is why I won't use ipods; you can't normally do that.

Oh guys chill out ><

Yes, I can agree that maybe a 3rd party program would be helpful. BUT they can be dangerous sometimes to the computer or unneccessary.

Honestly hon, I'd say let me jailbreak it for you. I've done it for other people before and it's never once gotten bricked...then you wouldn't have to worry about dealing with itunes or even paying for anything. Cydia handles that all for you...plus the device can suddenly do a lot more stuff.

otherwise I'd look at the files on the cd that are being greyed out and see if theyre in a different format or something...you might need to convert something.

Okay the music is grayed out on your iphone because it is either in an unsupported format or corrupted. Just delete it off the iphone and then check the music to see what format it is in/plays on your computer. Resync and see if it works.

I blew up my own rookie ship actually. I did the first tutorial mission twice because I rejected the tutorial lady's quest because I wanted her to give me one about mining, and then it restarted the whole tutorial quest line. So then I was in my rookie ship while my objective was to get into my rookie ship.

read the first word of my title. "itunes". I asked for help, in iTunes. Not for a critique of my setup, but on the off chance that anyone knew in itunes what was wrong and what to do. And this is the second one. I'm not asking for you to criticise what I use on my personal devices. I'm asking with the hope that someone will help me and not just tell me my shit sucks ass.

Alright, I'll try it. Thank you, AC.

If SharePod doesnt work, that'll be my next step. So thank you, AC.

It could depend on the "IDE Codec" I believe it's called....don't know the specifics on why/why not it doesn't work

it's weird though that itunes didn't convert it right

*shrug* my mind is blown lol. When something like that happens with a song I just find another copy of it and it usually works fine Razz
