For some reason, when I look at some music (specific CDs and songs) in my iPhone, they appear greyed out and I can't listen to em. Anyone know what causes this?

read the first word of my title. "itunes". I asked for help, in iTunes. Not for a critique of my setup, but on the off chance that anyone knew in itunes what was wrong and what to do. And this is the second one. I'm not asking for you to criticise what I use on my personal devices. I'm asking with the hope that someone will help me and not just tell me my shit sucks ass.Manila Plague wrote:wow you are hard to please
four people telling you what to do isn't helpful.... hmmm
also how many apple topics have you made... you always seem to get this type of response yet you continue to use apple products.... hmmm
do you see the problem here?
Alright, I'll try it. Thank you, AC.Dave wrote:Well at least give it a try. Get sharepod. it works like windows explorer. You just open up your ipod like it's a thumbdrive and organize your music as if it were the My Music folder on windows. When you disconnect, everything is where you want it to be. I've never found any music software that is more efficient than just dragging and dropping files in windows explorer, which is why I won't use ipods; you can't normally do that.
If SharePod doesnt work, that'll be my next step. So thank you, AC.Siren wrote:Honestly hon, I'd say let me jailbreak it for you. I've done it for other people before and it's never once gotten bricked...then you wouldn't have to worry about dealing with itunes or even paying for anything. Cydia handles that all for you...plus the device can suddenly do a lot more stuff.
otherwise I'd look at the files on the cd that are being greyed out and see if theyre in a different format or something...you might need to convert something.
AC for clear, simple instructions and explanation. Thanks a lot Tom.PrototypeT800 wrote:
Okay the music is grayed out on your iphone because it is either in an unsupported format or corrupted. Just delete it off the iphone and then check the music to see what format it is in/plays on your computer. Resync and see if it works.
