I've never been a fan of him, but I do like Epic Games. Hopefully it doesn't affect them too much.

I am adamant on the fact that the man cared about his series. He truly fought for his games. Like when some magazine came out and gave Gears 3 a lower score then what they gave Gears 2 and he came out and said something about it.

He didn't whine about it, or rage about it. He just calmly said that it was upsetting to him because he KNEW that Gears 3 was the better game. The man was passionate about his games, and it showed. Not many people are that passionate about their creations. We never see Peter Molyneux come out after each Fable is released. We don't see EA coming out and defending Battlefield scores. We see them come out, but its always to attack Activision and CoD. We always see Activision coming out after each CoD. But its only to say "LOL! LOOK SALES!"
If more devolopers were as passionate about their creations as Cliff was, the video game industry would be so much better then what it is now.

TL:DR, Its sad because CliffyB was one of the few remaining people out there who cared and loved his games.

While I won't argue the point of him caring about his games, he always struck me as a douchebag. All the PR he did for Gears really made me care less about the games simply because there's something about him I just don't like.

Cliffy B can screw off after he shit on PC's during the Gears series.

He was a PC guy for the longest time, then went all console as soon as M$ threw some money at Epic.

Unreal used to be the pinnacle to me, and that's when CLiffy B was at his best.

This,I liked the guy and Ive seen a few interviews with him over the years,he's a smart guy.He really knows the games industry and has interesting things to say.

yeah I think it's messed up they never made Gears 2 or 3 for the pc when the pc version of gears 1 had an extra boss battle

I was never a fan of Gears, but Unreal Tournament was one of the first shooters I played, loved it. I had no idea that he was related to it, since I didn't really care too much about devs when I was a kid.

Pretty sad that people associate Cliff with Gears now, and not Unreal.
