Anybody interested in doing some Lets Plays or stuff of that nature?

There is literally endless amounts of content we could put out in that format. Not to mention all the other things we could do.

I think Im gonna do this like I did my old web site(anybody remember that?)

Honestly I have been thinking about doing Let's Plays for a while, but I am just not sure I could ever make myself "different" enough or offer a unique experience. Going in blind and saying all the random shit in your head usually does not make for a good Let's Play. Combine that with my voice and I could just not think of a compelling reason for someone to watch me over someone else. If you make them though, I am sure I would at least watch some of them.

Well if we could get a few people involved on the SeC it would work, I think

Ive got a good voice for this kind of stuff, very deep and audience grabbing. So I could always do the voice stuff. Not shy about that.

The hard part is exactly as you said, coming up with your own thing.

TB has got the WTF market cornered, so we would want to do something a little bit different I do imagine if we would want views.

Just an idea to roll around our heads

(Looking at you Ante and Tom )

Loose humor is generally a sure-fire selling point. Getting content out day one is also HUGE in getting subs. You don't necessarily have to be unique in your approach, just be confident, funny, and informative when need be. Also be friendly with subs and engage/be social with them (twitter, facebook, etc etc.)

I've spent hours and hours researching gaming channels and youtube channels in general and I'm getting a pretty good grasp on how one can capitalize on the potential. I've just got to get over the anxiety and fear of failing that keeps me from doing a lot of things in life, lmao. Between my BL2 chest videos I've already got a couple thousand views and only a single downvote though, so that helps confidence tremendously. Getting a bunch of people organized (especially SeC'ers) for a let's play/group video series is probably the biggest hurdle, haha.

You gotta brainstorm those bitches

Plan them out

I was thinking we could try to find our niche and develop something unique

Will probably do it on my own, but having partners Ive known for years(you guys) would be great

Ante, I've been doing the same for the past few months

Its a crowded market, but lets be honest here.

How many of those channels are actually quality? Especially for the 18-32 demographic? not many.

Its either really poorly edited and thrown together videos with some juvenile humor

I wish someone had recorded Byas and me playing BF3.

Would've been the best BF3 tutorials ever.

I'll help you guys anyway I can, if I remember.

I guess I was more basing it off of what I can do. I am not that funny (or quick witted if you will) to make thousands of people laugh. In order to make yourself stand out, which is essential, you need to offer something that is generally uncommon. Being (or trying at least) to be funny is the most over used Let's Play tropes out there. A successful Let's Play to me is an unusual (or unique) take on a game. Be that playing it a different way, or playing it a much higher level than your average viewer. Simple fact is that you can not count on people watching the video because of you.

Like I said above though, these are guidelines more centered around just me trying to do Let's Plays. I myself have a general distaste for them, because why would I watch someone playing a certain game for an hour when I could just go play it. That ties into the fact that the entire Let's Play model generally appeals to those who can not afford to buy every game, aka the 13-17 crowd. In order to attract the older 18-31 crowd, it requires a lot of what I said above.

Besides all of that negativity, I think that it would still be a lot of fun. One particular game that I think would be good for a Let's Play would be Castle Crashers on Insane. There is barely anything on this game in insane mode, let alone in HD. Plus with my some 300 hours experience into the game, I think I could add something if we did it.

If you guys would make a gaming channel, I'm pretty sure I'd joy-puke. Ante's videos are already awesome, Sym's voice (from what little I've heard of it) is great for youtube, Tom is just a joy to play with, and since you're secers you have that innate talent of combining "wtf" and funniness. I think it'd be awesome, and I'd be your first subscriber.

What I was thinking if you were to make a gaming channel.

Why not make it like TGS in essence.

An account named SeC Gaming or something like that.

The directors have access (Ante, Sym, Art, Me, Tom, whoever else)

We upload videos to the channel in different playlists (Ante's view in one playlist for example)

Or into seperate game files and just label who's view it is.

Thats just an idea if you wanted to make a gaming channel...together.

that sounds pretty cool Lemon.

what with Machinima breaking down, theres gonna be a lot of people looking for new gaming vids.

I thought if we going to go for it, go big?

Also I have seen a channel of a guy who had 10 subscribers...but holy crap the channel was pimped out with graphics, had twitter, had facebook and everything. He was trying to go big and he had prettty good videos.

Its like 50% presentation, 25% video quality, 25% evertying else

Do want. Will help.

Also have an email account linked to the channel for emails and other crap... It's all just prep and uploading videos under private and when ready releasing them. Most you tubers upload in private and then have a times release for videos

Once I get my rig (soon hopefully) I could maybe help out with this. I could maybe take care of vintage games (NES,SNES) if there would be some interest in that? I could try and pick out of the way games that don't have quality vids of them yet.

It's a cool idea for sure though. I've actually thought of this before. To have a central SeC youtube channel that we could all share content on. Should make for some interesting viewing.
