I'm pretty sure Chinese are pretty much similar when it comes to anime or any 'nerdy' type of stuff. Its a 50/50 shot, but if they like it, then you are going to have a very pleasant time being able to share a lot of stuff.

I actually did not care much about how others thought about my hobbies when I was attending university, while living in a dorm. Though, many were more interested in watching my playing practice matches for pro gaming, more than sharing my other hobbies.

EDIT: Btw, do you know whether this Chinese is
1. Mainland Chinese
2. Hong Kong Chinese (Cantonese)
3. Chinese American

He's from Hangzhou and I think he's only been in the US since the start of the school year.
Guy is more american than me lol, he has an iphone and a one-x, hollister sweatpants, a yankees and a red sox hat... he has a dell laptop and i have a chinese lenovo hahhaha. He's probably scoping out the american girls and my girlfriend is chinese.

If he is from Hangzhou, he is mainlander. Most likely his father is a rich man, government official at high position, or both (well usually both). The chances of him liking or understanding anime is slightly less than 50/50 in an unfavorable way. If he is on the no no side, he would not despise it or anything, but he would just avoid you. This can be a good thing though, as he has money and will just go out most of the time leaving the room to just to yourself.

He has a ton of american shows and movies on his laptop. He asked me if there was an american site for free movies but I told him it probably wasnt a good idea to do that with the campus wifi.

no one else uses the ethernet network because the ra told everyone it didnt work. I'm not sure if you can have more than one cord in the ethernet, there's more than one port but i dont know if they all work. he hasnt asked for about it though. im not sure if he would even understand if i tried to explain. He didnt really get it when I told him not to download movies on the campus connection but streaming was probably safe.
