I thought I was the first one to make a big news out of it.

It was a new power supply as well. Blew up a week after the purchase. LoL

Anyway, I hope no other components are fried.

Do you have a good motherboard with over current protection?

Actually, just before current loadout.

Pretty much changed all major parts after this incident (except PSU, which I got a fresh one through warranty, and SSD). Nothing broke, fortunately, so they are sitting as backup parts.

My PSU has been a champ since I got it. Over kill wattage wise though haha

I think my usual luck just bit me once again when this happened. I just could not imagine a product that has a warranty period of over 5 years (I think its 7 or 8 years) blow up within a week. LoL

I went though 4 motherboards on this build before I found a stable one

I remember exchanging a perfectly good motherboard 3 times, since at the time I did not realize that MB could be shorted, if its not mounted properly in the case. LoL

This PSU was almost 4 years old. She had a good run. And as for my mobo its an Asus Z77 Extreme4. Not sure if it has good protection.

I've been looking at a bunch of prebuilt i7 desktops,etc. and alot of the reviews said the psu blew up >__> ,I guess the company,CyberPower just is cutting costs and putting junk PSUs in there.

The corsair I want,has a 7 year warrenty so it should be good.Yeah I'm paranoid about the mobo too,hear so much about them arriving dead,etc. lol
