I got out of the undead asylum. That armored dude told me about some bells. Then I killed him. Now I'm wandering around trying to figure out what to do. But everytime I die the game sends we way the hell back to that first bonfire and the combat is too complex to not make mistakes.

I heard this game was brutally hard but I was hoping it would be hard in combat and not just by making you repeat everything if you mess up and die. And what am I supposed to do against these ghost things?

you have to play the defensive and counter. Probably hard as fuck on keyboard,I got to the last boss on xbox but didn't have the patience.

you go to the "undead burg" from the very first bonfire you go behind you and you see a big ass bridge with skeletons on it...it'll take you to some sewer thing,then the undead burg.

The game gives you little to no indication on where to go....I had to look pretty much everything up on gfaqs >__>

I got a wireless dongle from my sister for Christmas so I can use my Xbox controller. Still a challenging game which I like

it would be cheaper for me to get the wireless dongle than a wired controller,although from everything I've read the dongle's are really hit-or-miss on being broken

you have to draw the enemies out one at a time,trying to fight them all at once is like a deathtrap even later on

If you get the official Microsoft one I think its pretty reliable. You just have to remember how to attach the controllers. I forgot all about the little button on the top of the controller. I was just hitting the home button hoping for it to sync up to my laptop. It was actually turning on my Xbox three floors down in the basement lol

Here's what you do:

1. Explore the world and figure out where to go.

2. Then figure out what to do.

3. Don't ask for help.

4a. Whatever you do, under no circumstances, use any kind of a cheat guide or FAQ because if you do your dick will fall off and you will grow a vagina.

4b. *Optional: Don't use any magic (because magic is for pussies).

5. Enjoy one of the best games ever made.

That's how I played it. Although as a personal preferance I would also add.

Go to the undead burg, there will be a bonfire there for you to use.

You should almost never kill NPC's. Except for Lautrec. He's an asshole. Other than that, keep trying and eventually you'll memorize how every enemy attacks and be able to respond accordingly, or grind enough souls to over level and power through the area. Also, always take the master key as your gift, unless you're playing a thief.

i lose all my souls which i need to level up when i die... so its hard to even grind to level up

yea dude the game is hard as hell and punishing but really rewarding when you beat stuff...might just get it on xbox again,I don't feel like starting over on pc lol
